  1. I've always thought that old OLP basses would be a good 'project' instument.
  2. Welcome, also loved your playing with Mr Weller. You've got a great groove!
  3. Best sound I ever heard was Jack Bruces sound on Cream's live version of 'Crossroads'. A definite inspiration on me.
  4. My 4x10 is ample for the pub gigs my band does. Of course if you really want one we can't stop but we will reserve the right to say 'I said, I bloody said!' when it all goes fruit shaped.
  5. Isn't just politness to ask first? I would have no problem letting another bassist use my amp but I would still appreciate being asked first.
  6. Anyone mentioned Stefan Ude from the Guano Apes? Great, if slightly bonkers band and very talented bassist that one.
  7. We have a gig this Saturday (18th) at the Riflemans Arms in Glastonbury if any interested parties want to see us and have a chat.
  8. How about this as an alternaive? http://www.thomann.de/gb/gretsch_g2214_junior_jet_bass_sunburst.htm
  9. Luckily amplification on the band front is not a problem. It's just for home noodling there is no point firing up the 300W Trace as we like a our neighbours.
  10. I do like a rich warm sound. I'll have to have a look.
  11. I am quite tempted to see if I can track down a T-60 combo from the turn of the century.
  12. Just practice at home and a £50-£90 budget.
  13. Thinking about getting a new practice amp as my little HiWatt is starting to show it's age a bit. Tempted by the Vox Pathfinder but if anyone can suggest anything else I could look at it would be appreciated.
  14. To throw another bass into the mix my Hofner Verithin has a nice meaty tone to it and is great to play.

    hoyer bass

    Tried emailing Hoyer again.
  16. I saw it last night and I was shocked.
  17. I quite like 'em. Interesting take on the LP.
  18. Wouldn't swap my Hartke 4x10 Transporter cab for anything. Goes in the back of my Kia Picanto, not the heaviest cab I've encountered and is built like a tank. Sounds good too.
  19. There were lots of pics getting taken at our gig on Saturday. I'll see if I can find out if they're up on the net the post links so peeps can see my rig including the Ric.
