  1. Mate im not jealous. Far from it. I litteraly dont want to play like him at all. Im a bass player for music that is really special. I aim to be a Freddie Washington not a Charles.. cant remember his last name.
  2. I think generally music has nose dived. Why.? Because its too easy to do..There are no greats any more. Im 45 and i cant count on 5 fingers how many pioneers there are on the world music scene today. Its either underground greats or Taylor Swift. I remember when Madonna came out with some forever lasting pop records. Prince, George Micheal etc etc. Name one musical genius now that is in the charts. People dont want to put in the effort to learn the actual hard work of learning the theory of music any more. Sound like an old git dont i. 😆
  3. Stunt Pilot. Brilliant!!!!
  4. The problem with that is, he is a musician. The guy knows his shiz. The market maybe is the problem. Hes not Hadrien Feraud good but i would like to hear his playing in a musical context.
  5. If i ever have to witness this guy with his super talented guitar mates on Tiktok again im going to throw my phone in the bin. Its turning bass playing into a form of Mcdonalds. All 3 of them taking turns doing some incredible solo that just blows your mind. Super fast, super clinical. Super bad taste imo... Look how incredible we are. But in the end there is no musical meat on the bone. Dont get me wrong hes a beast on the instrument but his playing and his platform after a while just bores me and my sister. . l have yet to see the guy play bass in a band.
  6. BTW put some DR High Beams on her. She comes alive with those strings.
  7. I probably have 400 pics of this Bass. I bought it from Molan. I think in 2010. I absolutely loved it for many years. Played it on many gigs in Cheltenham and Gloucestershire. Personally at that time i thought it lacked some punch. I spoke with Martin Peterson about this bass and he said it was never meant to be a typical sounding jazz bass. He designed it sonically as a smooth sounding jazz bass thus the passive bass and the original Bartolini single coil pickups. The woods just dont do a 70s or 60s jazz bass.. Regrettably i sold it to Steve Mills who is a dep for Ed Poole who plays for Bonnie Tyler atm... Then years later i was able to get it back. (Steve is selling that white Sei 5 string on BC ) I drove to Reading to see Steve and got it back. I utterly love that bass to be honest. There is a reason i owned it twice. Its so comfortable, the neck is just superb. And the way Martin cut away the body/ neck is just.... And it sounds not like a Jazz bass. Thats the great thing about it.. Maybe one day i may get her back.😁 Anyway enjoy the Sei bro. It aint no bike. That bass is a fantastic instrument.
  8. I may have posted this before but my sister sent it to me, and its just fabulously well worth re posting. Cory Henry,s keys playing on the keys is just fabulous. Sharay Reed's bass playing is just under the raidar groove. B Slade,s vocals are litteraly mind bending. The greatest vocals ive ever heard bar Donny Hathaway. Always blown away by his power and control. Just phenomenal vocals. B Slade @ 9.00 mins.

  9. I installed the Bartolinis and the lollipop tuners many years ago. It used be a passive instrument originally.
  10. My old Sei. Lovely instrument.
  11. Sorry i hadn't seen that.
  12. Possiby my favourite album of all time. Freddie on the P.
  13. Pretty much what i said.? Maybe i missing something.
  14. His playing on this is one of the greatest. If you take the bass away you dont have alot. His slap isnt flash, its just for the record and fills the record... Patrice wrote this on the piano i believe. Freddie worked out the bass on his 72 P bass.
  15. I think you can kind of hear his bass playing. Its very strict. The way he holds a note. Totally for the record and the odd slap here and there.
  16. After watching that Freddie Washington vid i listened to this. Listening to this record has taken up my ears for today. Fabulous record, Fabulous bass playing. Tight studio Washington bass playing on a Ken Smith. .Arrangements and drums and vocals by Phil Collins who i think is so so tallented... the Freddie Washington vid is below.
  17. This. USA Lakland 5594 Deluxe....But with Lakland pickups and pre.. tone wise its just a monster, can do most, fat, punchy. You can dial in so much., the neck is the best on any bass ever made period.. very flat front to back then gets flatter towards the body. If you havent picked up a 5594 you must. I remember picking up my first 5594 and you could just feel its vibration. Sounds like bs but it aint. They are phenomenal electric basses.
  18. Really interesting to hear this guys knowledge. And Prince,s 3 part harmony and bass hook.
  19. When it comes to breaking down some of the greatest records of all time this is the guy. Hes a great bass player/multi instrumentalist. In this vid he breaks down the woman in my profile pic. His other vids are just a real lesson in how the greats make their music.
