  2. Thankyou for the positivity. Ill get back to it.
  3. Well its come to that time that finances have hit so hard that I have had to sell my last bass. And my beloved Aguilar 212. Its really stinky poo because ive been playing bass for 28 years and I feel musically lost. Im sure some have been through this before. Ive not been without at least one bass for all those years. Hasn't really hit me yet.. Still have my Eden amp... But yep im lost without a bass... Has anyone been bass less before,.?
  4. Im always amazed Zs aren't looked upon as among the greatest jazz basses like NYC Sadowsky. These are easily up there with any NYC Sadowsky.
  5. Absolutely nothing. I will play anything from any brand with any amount of strings. as long as it plays well is set up right, game on. Its music its not an adjustable spanner
  6. What makes it a non export.? Not trying to be a smart derrière but ive owened many a non export MIJ Jazz and they usually come with (like my previous one)70s pickup spacing.. Matching headstocks etc. Its a MIJ 75 RI with upgrades which by the way are very cool. Those AZ pickups are impossible to buy by the way and are epic. Atelier Z won't sell them to anyone.
  7. Bucket list bass a Meridian Jazz. A high end modern Jazz bass without the stupid money.
  8. Im not sure ive ever seen a one piece of wood bass from body/neck to headstock.... like ever.!! ??
  9. I will start by saying i was brought up listening to Anita Baker The Gap Band George Benson Earth Wind And Fire etc.that was my childhood for years My mum always had George Benson The Ojays playing when i was a nipper. Usually funky soul stuff playing.. I just wondered if personally your early years had any bearing on the way you play now.?
  10. God Fear and Money on that album. The bass playing from Meshell is just superb.
  11. I had one of these in Pink. What a bass it was . These are the real deal. Gotoh tuners made in Japan.......amazing what quality you can get for £300. As good as any TRB Japan made bass..
  12. Ive seen Ed live a couple of times. Once with his band and the second time with Incognito at the Jazz Cafe in London.
  13. Very cool. These dont come up very often. Best 4 string neck ever period.
  14. Im not sure such a bass exists. Not a USA model anyway.
  15. IMO. She was just incredible. No vocal aids. Totaly live . This vid says it all. Just straight up vocal power and control she got from church.
  16. Very cool. Ive owned a Sei J 5 and they are fabulous instruments.
  17. This album is probably in my top 5 favourite albums of all time. Its so well produced and played. He and the band the band were so on their game back then. He wrote Holding Back the Years when he was 17. Says it all about the guy. imo.
  18. Many a dance floor ive bobbed my head to this this utter classic. Was never much of a dancer.
