The guy is just fantastic. You might remember him from his incredible voice and live playing on a piano and his guitar with a loop pedal. A great multi instrumentalist. He reminds me of Ole Borud.

Gaz how did Incognito fit in with all this Acid Jazz if you have any perspective.?. I remember way back as the Jazz Funk album and even before then with Bluey and Light of the world when I knew about Mr JP Maunicks music . Even before then there was a band I can't remember the name of..

Ah ok I didn't know this. I watched an interview with James saying him and Gilles founded Acid Jazz records. I'll try and find it.

No it's not at all buddy. It's about the genre. I personally think Incognito are a different genre all of their own though. But I adore Incognito and Blueys music. Especially Beneath the Surface.

Founded by Gilles Peterson and James Taylor the record label became a genre. I have always loved it.. please share your favorites. I should add there are lots of Acid Jazz that are not the Acid Jazz label but are still Acid Jazz/modern Jazz Funk. This album is a classic from James imo... Andrew Mckinney on bass.

There is no Jazz bass quite like a Modulus. Ive had two and the harmonics ring like no wooden necked bass. You never have to touch the truss rod. The Barts are just fab on a Modulus. -
A true innovator on bass, piano and arranging her music.
