I first started learning by getting my fingers on both hands used to playing together..then i bought a book and CD and learned.. Above all that i learned my favorite CD's for years... i will say though there is nothing like a good teacher to set you on your way... your finger will ache but it wont be for long... i wish you luck on this wonderful journey bro...

I was in London about a 3 weeks ago with my sister...we were in a traffic jam in sheps bush...i looked across and saw a blacked out BMW with some young guys who looked like hoodlums....i dont mean to generalise.. they were young guys.... they had some beats very loud but couldnt make it out i was expecting hip hop at that tempo... we pulled up next to them and i was suprised to hear Fagan...me and my sister were bobbing our heads... i was digging the fact that these young guys appreciated Fagan... i just cant get enough of Steely Dan and Mr Fagan i may even like it more than Incognito...i know these guys have been posted a million times before, but im ill and im allowed to.... the finesse and musical detail and talent of these guys is astounding... just timeless brilliant music...its making me feel better anyways... this was the track they were playing.... i frickin love it...especially the horns...
You should definitely buy the GB - they really are fantastic basses. However, the Jazz Bass does have a sound of it's own too and a vintage jazz bass is probably a better investment in the long run as they do seem to hold their value more.
There are two sides to this...GB and a 74 Jazz.. different beasts..personaly i would take the Fender...yes im envious...on another note, i remember that KS jazz you had and remember loving the tone in the Railway.been gassing for one...was it a fiver? did it have an EBS pre.? they can you go for peanuts now and there killer basses....GF what did you think of yours?

Ha!..yeah the playability was awsome...an all round stunner...well the GAS is your demon, all i can do is egg you on.. whats the Overwater like? yeah sorry Mikeg...
-
No i played it a month ago..didnt notice mate but i didnt fiddle too much with the EQ...the bass was very hifi like my Modulus but had more to it....i do remember it being very light, and easy to play.the bound fingerboard is killer and the top and headstock are so nice... i asked Mark if he would trade for the Fender or the Modulus but i couldnt talk him round...he wants a sale... do it bro, if it was me i would sell the Overwater and grab this..its a beauty...one of Bernies best
