Ive been through sh*t loads.. lost lots of money... but what i lost in money i gained in experience... i pretty much know exactly what i like in an instrument now.. the bass i came back to was the SR5.. all i want now is a nice Fender Jazz.. the GAS never goes away though.... just to add i agree..the thrill of the chase is a big factor...but i think im done chasing... erm..did i say done?

Why not play both?

i would def play for free... i always have done.. depending on the music though..

Not much is said of this guy.. his was the first solo bass album i bought... to be honest i was blown away.... there are a few VB basses sold, but not alot of talk of his playing.. often overlooked for some maybe unfair obvious reasons.. Omar Hakim's drumming is biblical..man that guy can hit the sticks on Low Blow.. Dennis Chambers is also incredible...Kenny Garrets horns is erm... no need for me to say... ive got to say i love his playing...IMO his singing on Continium is not so good.. but his bass playing is of the chart.. and no he doesnt play a Fender on these, its a Pensa jazz... just happens to be be my GAS jazz bass.. these are very cool... Excuse my enthusiasm for this man and his music.....but i so dig Poogie Bell... this track says it all... just amazing groove drumming.. and the bass playing is so so good.. ive got every album hes produced, aswell as alot that hes played on... just brilliant jazz groove.. his stuff with Marcus Miller is fantastic...
