I could only find this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RED-JAZZ-BASS-ProBas...=item2c51ccbe9a The series/parrallel switch is a nice addition.
The bridge is waaay off, scale wise. Unless it's a bigger body than a Jazz.
  2.
And with Google translator : Here is your jazz bass "Gold on Gold" ALL ORIGINAL 1982 issue of a special series (Collector's Series) Fender catalog produced from 1981 to 1983, by Dan Smith desine time Fullerton. The existing custom shop not at that time this series was the top suggested by Fender and Dan Smith, at the time that Jazz (and the start of the series) sold new 1300 USD which should be ............. not bad in 2009! Body Ash handle mapple with cream binding, the electronic level feature is the microphone which is acute closer to the bridge as in Jazz 70 'which in effect give a side even more bite to this last. Otherwise it is classical mechanical easel is a massive fender classic but truc de fou carrement these pieces are covered with gold, so that the legend says that at the time Fender lost cash on the sale of each strata or Gold Jazz For the record I bought this bass ago about two years to a onlybassien who had himself bought guitar village. You will see on the pictures she really lived, painting testifies, I really know the history of this low all I know is that a famous Parisian luthier, the purchased in a depot sales to states with a crack on the handle, he made a remarkable (see pictures) glue in the crack but by adding a reinforcement in metal by the hole in the mechanics of Mi. Before I buy the low Downloadable luthier to see what it was this "problem" he 's had replied that the repair dating 8 years and gave me all the guarantees me certifying that the race was even stronger than before reparation and moreover the neck is perfectly straight truss nickel, I can settle this without Jazz hold (this which is rare) with a 2 .2 mm at the 12th case. The sound is really outstanding with a dynamic impressive and a very pronounced attack in salpa is ennnnnnnnnnnorme fingers and the mediums groan fort. As to the rarity of the beast I post a small link talkbass with an idea of the coast: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/archive/inde...p/t-388629.html (ps: the french player they are talking about that's me) More pictures upon request with pictures of pots, microphones, when the handle, etui home ect ect ..................... Photos: A nice little gallery HERE Sounclips: Go to my myspace group here and you select the titles "Cantu Fade" and " Sart " PRICE: MAKE OFFER FOR DISCUSSION IN MP I am open to trade
The 'mediums groan fort'. WTF is a mediums groan fort?? A fort where mediums groan, during a seance, no doubt! Ya gott love online translators. Sorry that just made me laugh.

Looks good. this CAR/TORT/ROSEWOOD is my favourite after OLY/TORT/ROSEWOOD on a jazz. good luck
Vintage and bloody Rare!! How did they manage to land a dealership for these beauties??

You wouldn't get that kit on an Antoria. I do agree on the cost side of things, though. I'd never pay the kind of money these stackers go for and I'd rather wait for John at Bravewood to get his commissions hat on again and build me a distressed one for a fraction of the cost!
I wondered what the hell you were on about for a minute here... I thought, "Has this man lost his mind?!" Then I suddenly realised you'd put the sales blurb from the Japanese site through a translator...
Lost in translation, eh? Just like this one. enjoy. or not, as the case may be!

Bad vibes all round, eh? Well, that's a fkn shame, cos I liked it, apart from the fake mutes. Each to their own.......................

  9.
Sting has 2 but I believe that this is the 1957 one which makes it one of the last of the single coils before Fender went with the split pickup style. I believe that his is fitted with a Seymour Duncan humbucker. This bass was the inspiration for my own Warmoth creation: sadly no longer with me.
jeez, where did that go to? You shoulda kept that!
  10.
Get a MIJ Sting P, hack out the Stinglay from the 12th fret, and then drag the bass through a hedge. For twenty years.
That thing annoys the hell outta me! Given Sting's vanity, I'll bet that he insisted the 'stinglay' went in, as opposed to a signature on the scratchplate, something which you could remove and replace. Sure, you could dig it out and sent it off to get filled, but that would cost a few bob. Speaking of String (sic), his dot-neck Jazz is a beauty.
  11.
Polish for a bass? Basowa evidently
I thought it was 'Bszwychii' ?? I jest, but that's what I thought the OP meant, too!
  12.
Thanks once again for the all the offers to purchase, but the problem at the moment is I need to have a fretless to play on pretty much continuously, so the swap/trade is the only thing I can hope for at the moment. If I sell, then I will have to rush into buying something/anything that may not 100% fit the bill. I've recently started on a 5-string (Ibanez - cracking bass for the money) with a 'slim' neck (for a 5-string), so if I can get used to that then maybe the P neck won't feel so 'wide' after all. Still holding out for someone out there somewhere with a natural/burst, unlined Jazz.
What, like this one???
  13.
Okay, so I've got a couple of years old Japanese 75 RI Jazz. Lovely looker with a tone to die for, but crap output compared to my 09 American Standard Jazz & lots of top end buzz, again unlike my ultra silent American Jazz. I'm thinking of getting the pickups swapped out for some tasty Nordstrands, but wondered why the Jap Jazzes always suffer with the single coil crackle? My Geddy Lee was exactly the same. Why is the American Standard so different, even though the Japanese pickups are meant to be "American Vintage" models? In the same token, which Jazz pickups do you recommend for high output & huge tone? Rich.
The Jap pups - and electrics in general - is what lets them down. That and bad shielding. The actual builds are really good, though. Everyone I know who plays bass has swapped out their single coils on Jap units.
  14. Have had SDs, Bartos and Armstrongs but the ones I liked most were a set of Mighty Mites I put in an ESP telebass. They were punchy as hell whilst still retaining the Jazz tightness and exposed more harmonics than any pup I've ever had. Might get a hold of them again, not that I've seen this threat. Am also thinking about try those ceramic Kent Armstrongs. I also had Ptere Florance Voodoo oups in my Bravewood jazz whcih were pretty good.
  15.
Lemmy's been seen with a good few interesting Ricks & Rick-shaped things - check this out: No idea if this has ever been within 10000 miles of Santa Ana, but it's way cooler than those LK4004 monstrosities, and I want it. Jon.
I agree: the LK signature is bowff! it looks like it's been made out of bits of cuckoo clock!
  16.
I nearly caused an all out riot when I suggested on the Rickresource that it could be a copy. Rickenbacker did produce limited amounts of custom stuff in the early 70s but this one could also have had a new fretboard. It could also be a copy which would mean that the really expensive 4003LK is a folly. i say copy - get it round them.
Those guys on rickresource are a right bunch of dummy-spitters. Say what you want, mate!

  18.
Got one. Sorry. Pics?
I'm taking some fresh ones later on for Evilbay and will post them here as well.
  19. +1 to letting it go and bump him as a mate. Hard to do but so is life, mate! It would cost you more than the bass is worth to get a refin, too. Never lend your bass/guitar to no one! I played a Fresher's Ball a good many years ago and when I turned up the main band (whose egos were then expanding having just supported the Rolling Stones in Edinburgh) were in crisis: their bass player's only bass was broken and the sound check was in progress. I had my brand new Status Seris II with me that night and the sound crew leaned on me to lend the bass to the main act. I refused and got bawled out by the ginormous FOH sound man, saying that the gig couldn't go ahead otherwise. As a reluctant young man I relented, asking that the bass was returned to me personally by the bassist. It wasn't. I had to go looking for it. It took me ages and by the time I found it - sitting alone in an empty make-shift dressing room - it was covered in scratches and one of the pots was loose. I vowed then never to lend anyone anything. But I did, years later, with an old P-bass. Took months to get it back. It stank of fags and beer and had a few more scratches. Just don't do it.
  20.
I wouldn;t worry in the slightest; Getty won't care about marked images. What they do worry about are the non-watermarked versions of these images. The ones here are just like contact prints, for viewing only. Also, if they want a take-down, they'll ask for one. fatback
Cheers! I don't think Marshall, Gibson or whomever makes Derek's FrankenRay whould clamour for their pound of flesh from a photo that is, in essence, in the public domain! I could remove that Gettymark but it would take a wee while and surfing for bass is... well, there's not that much time, is there?
  21. Talking about things Tap, I spotted a book the other week that catalogued Led Zep in pix over the decades and there was footage of them with a FULL SIZE 'Henge for their truss! Never knew that!
  22.
Actually, I think its a 8-stringer and a 4-stringer
But of course! Check the rear-end octave tuners! I hada Washboard Explorer 8-string that was strung that way back in the '80s and the octave G popped when tuning up! sh*t design!
