Serious humming sounds like an earthing issue. Are the solder grounds nice and shiny? Have you metered the circuit to see if there's any crosstalk between + and -? I also agree with ripping out the Aud for now and putting the orginal jazz circuit back in if you still have it and see what happens.

Looks like an MC series that's been reshaped.

I reckon 'Roundabout' has an awful lot to do with the toaster. But I must admit that fella is getting close to it.

Vintage & Rare - makes me chortle every time!! Sound Control up my way always let you have a strum without any pressure whatsoever; shame they went under. My fav bunch of bullsh*tt*rs/stonewallers are Music Ground. Remember going there - Leeds - back in the '90s with a mate who was wanting a dekko at a vintage Gibby Melody Maker they had avertised in Melody Maker (is that still on the go??). My mate had the spondulicks on him but as we went through the shop we couldn't see the Gibby. What happened next was the worst case of music-shop stonewalling I have ever witnessed: upon enquiring about the guitar, we were told, after jogging the puzzled shop-wallah's memory of what the guitar looked like, that it had been sold, despite having spoken with one of their guys about it on the phone the day before. Now it is possible that the guitar had been sold but we doubted it and were puzzled by the guy's behaviour. He seemed to be enjoying telling us it was sold. We left and a phonecall later on informed us that the guitar was still there but 'kept out the back', whatever the F that means! On a lighter note, one of my fav shop-owner pi**-offs was back in nineteen-canteen in Edinburgh. As all young guys have done over the decades, we lived in music shops on a Saturday afternoon and on one ocassion we went into this old shop run by two old stuffed-shirts in tweed jackets. One of the tweedies was re-stringing a guitar on the counter and one of my mates asked if he could try a Coloursound wah-wah pedal. Tweedie huffed and puffed and got said wah-wah out, plugged it into the guitar on the bench, strummed the strings and opped the wah-wah with the other hand. "See? It's working!!" he said, all the while staring malevolently at my mate. We got our coats and left...........
I'd buy from the States - plenty of dealers will 'quietly' ship CS basses to the UK for way less than this, at least £1,000 cheaper (even after taxes & duties!). Officially they are all banned by Fender from selling new basses outside of the USA but quite a few of them have 'ex-demo' or 'used' stock they will sell
Me, too! I got my new CS Stacker Relic from a guy in the 'States for £1900 by the time I'd paid duty. etc. He had bought a few straight off a dealer as investments and shipped one to me when he saw he'd over streched himslef financially.

I knew a guy who had a Grant EB-O; it sounded shid. -

Keep an eye on the Crack Converters in and around Edinburgh and also that hock shop - Duncanson's - on the corner of Queen Street and Hanover Street. Also local (and maybe even Glasgow) Gumtree. Scayles up in the South Side take 2nd hand kit and maybe the 'fish supper man' Rikki at the foot of the Walk. And also evilbay. Hope it gets returned. Les Blonde Dames got their guitar returned after it got nicked from an Edinburgh hotel; it turned up at Scayles, whom I presume alerted the cops so theirs still hope.

Was g-teching for a band back in the mid '90s. Singer had stalker fan who turned up every night, same spot, front row, with her mate. She had that same manic look that Cher has and every night notes were gettign handed to the TM to give to singer. The one that tipped it over the edge - which resulted in no more mail from this bird being passed backstage - went along the lines of 'I am standing in the wings every night watching you, my darling! Soooon we will be together!!'. The singer left the band not long after that but that didn't stop the stalker: she married the singer's cousin, who lived a mile or so away from the singer himself on an island up north. Nutjobs.
well tell them..just don't use the names.
Even if I changed the name of the female singer, I think it's too gross. Don't think I'd get away with it.
the one about the p1553d off band and what they did to his harmonicas?
That's the main one!!! Love it!

Jeez, all this reminds me of an Alembic Series One Point I had in the mid '80s. The phantom power (27 volts?) was a fkn heavy box that sat on the floor and plugged into the bass, separate from the signal jack. Too bad if you wanted to move about the stage!

I know loadsa tales, some true, some apocryphal, from being in the industry for many years. A couple of cracking Van Morrison tales and a shocking tale about an English female pop/soul singer from oop north but this forum isn't the place for 'em. Stalker groupies - now there's a thread!!!!
One of my personal peeves is being disturbed in your bunk. If you're in there with the curtains closed then that's it, you should be left alone. If you fall pass out in the back lounge after being smashed on booze and whatever then you're fair game.
Agreed. From what I recall, though, his bunk curtains were open. I also heard a tale of Rat Scabies emptying the contents of an ashtray into Elvis Costello's snoring gob!!

I know one about a drunk tour novice, his bunk, a condom and a drumstick. Nuff said!!

I seem to recall Geddy Lee had a butchered white Precision not unlike that back in the '70s. -
