  1. Used Schaller Strap locks for years, but when they released the latest version with the 1 piece screw/button, I did think it was something of a strange move. Improvements to the strap lock nut were great, but the one piece screw/button, not so. Thankfully, I have a few of the old versions kicking around.
  2. Man in the Mirror - Michael Jackson
  3. Agreed
  4. Welcome to the Pleasure Dome - Frankie Goes to Hollywood
  5. Like BigRedX said, in theory, a great idea... so long as you buy strings from them in the first place. Not one to knock a great idea and scheme though, so congrats Strings Direct and D'Addario for putting these in place. More manufacturer's and suppliers shoud put this in place instead of chucking them in the normal recycling.
  6. Teenage Kicks - The Undertones
  7. Because you're dealing with other musicians.
  8. Gear4music - Warwick Red Label Stainless 45-105
  9. Elephant Star - Candlemass
  10. First gig in over 18 months last night, and first gig with the new singer. The first band on were the headliners (?), but they brought in a decent crowd. Really good band. As ever, loads of people drifted off after the first band, but we did get quite a few people in watching. New singer has a bit more on stage charisma than the previous singer, moved around a fair bit and talked to the crowd too. Wasn't too chuffed when he stood on my POD Go, but he was apologetic afterwards. Went down well, and got a few compliments after the show. 🤘👍
  11. US made basses (1 UK made one as well), the rest was made in China.
  12. Warwick 42200M Red Label – Thomann UK Warwick Red Stainless
  13. No, Warwick do a set of Stainless in the Red labels as well. IIRC, 42200. Used to get them from Thomann. Great strings that lasted well. I think Gear4Music sell them as well, for about £9 a set. Stopped using Nickels due to a reaction. The skin would go white and peel, and my fingers would get sore. Changing to Stainless stopped it immediately.
  14. The Last Waltz - Englebert Humperdink
  15. Looks cool, but the knobs being close to the footswitches would worry me a touch, especially on the sort of cramped stages us mere mortals would tend to occupy.
  16. Love the look of the D-Roc, especially the sparkly "Aqua" one above. Seems a bit weird that the pickup switch doesn't have the options for the two outer pickups together.
  17. Snowblind - Black Sabbath
  18. Noticed that on both the Johm Myung & Geezer pedals, there were control knobs very close to the footswitches, surely that's asking for trouble?
  19. Most, but not all. There is some variation out there, but predominantly, the many Leo Fender designed instruments are the most readily available. FWIW, I would try as many different basses as you can, be it in shops, music shows (when they start up again), or at friends / acquaintances. You'll play basses you'll like, you'll play basses you don't like. You'll more than likely start the eternal quest for "the one". Welcome.
  20. Got some EPS165's to try out next string change.
  21. Why? - Discharge
  22. Metropolis - Motorhead
