  1. This is an unbadged Torque cab. The speakers have been upgraded to 50w from 30w. The cab is working, cosmetically not brand new. Would appear that this has been upgraded as it has two 4ohm 50 watt speakers and a tweeter. The back plate of the cab is not fastened, but it’s a very snug fit so not moving. This appears to be wired in parallel, making it a 2ohm cabinet. Very clean inside, candidate for wiring in series to get 8ohm output. selling for £10 collected, just trying to clear space!
  2. Selling my Tele bass, in all used it for no more than 10 minutes after buying it. Its in mint condition cannot see a mark on it, has all protective plastic on pick guard and tuners still attached, comes with original gig bag and the bag candy too. Purchased to try and trigger a push back into playing again earlier in the year but it didn't hit the spot for me, just didn't get on with the slab body. Selling it as I am picking up my Nate more and more, would like this to fund a LB30 2.n. I am based in Ipswich for those wishing to collect, if not happy to send at buyer’s expense. I am heading to Derby on Saturday so can meet up on that route if it helps. 3. I have just seen this in my room and wondered if anybody wants it, before I move it again only to find it in a few months time, just cover postage?
  4. I got given one of these, just the unit, no power supply and no idea if it works at all? Does anybody have any knowledge about these? The psu for these appears to be a bit old school so I don’t have one that Is it worth getting a power supply to see if it works? if not does anybody want it, door stop, paperweight?
  5. Anybody able to recommend somebody to look at a Wem Westminster valve amp? I am in Ipswich. thanks
  6. Medo is £88.89 on Amazon Black Friday Deals https://www.amazon.co.uk/Donner-MEDO-Controller-Electronic-Instrument/dp/B0D4QP4QMM/ref=sr_1_3?nsdOptOutParam=true&sr=8-3
  7. Pleased its proven worthwhile, the £200 in shipping and fees put me off.
  8. These are only £299 at Andertons, seems like a good deal to me, is the MX5 a good option for bass, or does it become a good option at this price? https://www.andertons.co.uk/headrush-mx5-amp-modeling-guitar-effects-processor/
  9. The listing is 8 years old, so price may well be north of that by now
  10. What size allen key is needed for truss road adjustment on a chowny swb bass? Feels like it might be a bit sizeable as all the ones I have are a little loose when inserted (ooer). Thanks
  11. wondering about the right approach here, the neck on my bass is pretty straight but i cannot get an adjustment on the truss rod in either direction. A quick squirt of wd40 and try again or is there another way to ease the adjustment? The neck is good at the moment but think I should resolve this rather than leave it
  12. Damn it, keep expecting to see that the latest post on this thread is an update telling us that the deal is back on. Apologies to those expecting the same from this post.
  13. I see there is a Fender Loog tie in currently: https://www.fender.com/en-GB/search?q=fender+loog&lang=null Telecaster style looks fun
  14. I saw that but looks like it has the same issue with the g string alignment. Fixed by setup?
  15. How is it working out for you?
  16. £75 on Spartan music : https://spartanmusic.co.uk/products/joyo-r-26-monomyth not used them before but it’s a uk option.
  17. Agreed, and for a gigging musician this must be a consideration. No waiting on faceless repair centres, get straight to the heart of the company.
  18. Shout out to Dave and Chris at Ashdown for the amazing customer service I have recieved this week. I bought a secondhand LB30 head and LB112 cab quite a few years ago and shortly after owning it, it developed an issue where by the amp sounded like static/white noise when the amp was on with or without a bass guitar attached. I kept hold of the rig and thought I would get round to getting it fixed, but you know life gets in the way. I messaged Ashdown a couple of weeks ago and Dave Green responded back to say to give them a call and arrange to bring the head in to be looked at. When I called, Dave said that the head could be brought in anytime, he then realised that Chris lived very close to me so suggested that rather than I bring it in I could drop it off with him to bring in. I dropped the head of with Chris last Saturday, it got into Ashdown on Tuesday and I got a call from Chris on Wednesday to say that its been fixed. Previous owner had swapped in a couple of substand valves for some reason and this was the cause of the sound quality issue. The valves were swapped out and the head given a clean bill of health. Picked up the amp from Chris last night and a quick collection became a decent half hour chinwag. I really cannot fault the service, its great in this day and age for a company to go above and beyond to look after customers like this.
  19. $2k seems a bit rich!
  20. Shame, do they cover cost of return or is that down to you?
  21. Thanks for the reply, this is my second one of bought to replace one I had when the LB30's were first released, this one is a lot noisier than the previous one. Although as you say there is always some noise with valves I have tried all the combinations of settings and the only thing that reduces the noise is to disengage the bass channel.
  22. When I fire up my LB30 with all EQ channels enabled, switch in up position, the head emits a white noise/ interference noise. If I disable the bass channel, switch down, the noise is greatly reduced. have added a video to try and illustrate the fault. is this typically a valve issue or could it more likely be something else? thanks IMG_2453.MOV
  23. I guess I was probably incorrectly stating studio monitors, essentially looking for a viable desktop solution in studio monitor form. Now that the spare room is guitar room and full time working from home room I need a smaller means of amplification. The corners of the desk that suit monitors or pc speakers was the ideal location for the next step
  24. I bet they sound great, bit meaty size wise. I guess it’s needed to produce decent lows. They appeal to my wallet and the size is ideal for a desktop. Just depends on bass response.
  25. I have been playing through headphones a lot recently through my small Valeton gp100 multi effects pedal. I would like to play without headphones now and again at low volume and was Just wondering what budget price monitors or pc speakers people are using at the moment. Looking at £200 max for a pair. These won’t be pushed used for bass and guitar. Thanks
