1. Lots of folk on Talkbass have tried this. It seems you would have to fan them out to avoid them hitting each other. A pitfall of the smaller headstock. And those ain't lollipops either ;-)
 2. Looks like Frankenstein! Beautiful bass.
 3.
This man knows his Gibbos! Excellent fellow to deal with, give him money!
I'll second that.
 4. Any word on the condition of the bass?
 5. Up, up! Up up up!
 6. I like it. It's like a John Deacon with an extra bit. Sadly I am unable to make you an offer as you have something else I covet far, far more...

 8. For sale - My Epiphone Elitist EB3 in glorious short scale. I picked this up a couple of months ago after years of keeping my eyes open for one. Alas it's not really for me, after all that! Certainly a bit of a rarity on these shores. The bass is in superb condition, with just two small chips in the finish - one by the lower strap button and one on the rear of the horn. The rest of the bass is superb, neck appears pristine as far as I can tell. All electronics and hardware in full working order. The back of the headstock is marked '2nd' but I am unable to see why - unless it was the aforementioned chips to the finish. This bass is far closer to the original Gibson EB3 than the current SG bass, both in feel and particularly tone. It nails the Jack Bruce / Andy Fraser / Jim Lea sound and really comes alive with a bit of drive. The bass was recently set up with D'Addario Chrome flats. I also added a mod bar to the bridge (see pics) - this is removeable If you don't like it but it does wonders for sustain and tone. 10.
It's a shame when the room ruins the fun, you can have the best rig ever but in a marble-floored, dome-ceilinged room (I speak here from bitter experience, haha!) you're stuffed!
That's a relief to hear. It was a ridiculous room. I'll report back after I use it at next rehearsal.
 11.
If you're ordering one it's pronounced 'Tasteless'
Attention irresistibly drawn to your profile pic...
 12.
Almost new epiphone EB3??
No thanks mate, I've just picked up an an Elitist EB3...
 13. I only discovered the other day that Hofner is actually pronounced 'hoofner'.
 14.
Okay! firstly its not a P Bass! Its a 1966 'Telecaster Bass'! It just happens to look like a P Bass. I have played an original 66 that was owned by John Entwistle. It was quite heavy with ash body not swamp ash. I've had the pleasure of chatting with Barrie Midford-Millership who was the creator of the slab. It was his 'baby'! You need to read is book. Its all in there.
And secondly? It does seem to say 'Precision Bass' on the headstock...
 15.
Not my thing I'm afraid! I play in a four piece punky band! Cheers P
A Buzzard would be awesome in your band!
 16. Also open to non-Alembic / Wal related offers...
 17. Well, not a lot to report sadly. The gig was in a large, ornate hall complete with chandelier and stone pillars. A complete echo chamber. I couldn't put the cabs against a wall, never mind a corner, so the onstage sound was just horrendous. Very unsatisfying bass sound, seemingly lacking a lot of low end, but I'm hoping it was the fault of the room as we were all suffering equally. I got through the gig despite struggling to hear myself (we had set the volume levels for the best sound out front) and managed to have a good time. Apparently everything sounded great out front and we had everyone dancing throughtout. We went down a storm and got great feedback so job done I suppose! Now seriously considering upgrading the band PA and switching to in ear monitors.
 18.
What would tickle your fancy??
I dunno, I'm quite fond of Wals and Alembics... I'm open to offers!
 19.
+1 I've had a few girlfriends like that.
20. I want to know what the basses are!
 21.
Here is a comparison between my Walnut 2014 4003 and my 2013 Jetglo 4003. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0arxQI6oy8s
Lovely tone to both - the walnut one sounds a bit snappier at the top. Cheers George, now I want another Rick. :-D
