1.
if this was south east id be all over it for an audition good luck
Ditto!
2.
is that good or bad?
Depends on the bass! ;-)
3.
Sounds good, do you know how old it is please?
I reckon around 15 years old.
4. I've just sold the good Emperor some La Bella flats - instant payment, no problems whatsoever. I would happily deal with John again.
5.
They were woolly then became more woolly then I gave up caring.
6.
Assuming this is active, are the controls vol, pan, bass and treble? Ta!
If I remember correctly, it's vol, vol, tone, bass boost - but I'm sure Shonks will be along to confirm/correct!
7. I used to have a picture of this bass on my bedroom wall... Whereabouts in Essex are you?
8. a few years a go I tried a variety of P basses in one sitting. The Hoppus was, to my ears, the best. Mind you this was before they flipped the pickup round. Sadly it's my utter revulsion of anything Blink 182-related that stops me from ever seriously considering one, but that's just me being petty and small-minded.
9. As new, never used or taken out of the packet. Purchased for my Squier Bass VI but I decided to sell the bass before I got round to fitting the strings. Gauges: 026 .035 .044 .055 .075 .095 Heavier and far better suited to the instrument than the flimsy stock strings! These are around £60 new (if in stock!) - I'll do them for £45 inc. shipping within mainland UK. Could possibly consider trades for effects pedals.
10.
This. It's a Precision, all day long. It has a precision shape body, like the originals, and like all other precision shapes (albeit uncontoured) It has precision pickups and electronics It has a precision neck (maple cap was an option at this time, and can be seen on many regular sunburst contour precisions of the era) It has Precision on the headstock, applied by Fender. Regardless of what some bloke wanted when he went into a shop, all story, what was built, was a Precision. You can call it what you like, but thats what it is.
I bet he was pissed off when he saw what they had sent him...
11. Shipping now considered.
12. I nearly bought one, but was sadly crushed by how affordable it was.
13.
Thanks Barrie, get kettle on lad A punter recorded one of our first set numbers on Sat night apparently, on a mobile phone. As ever the quality is poor (and that's just the band) and you can never really hear the bass. It just about comes through in parts. Link below. 04:21
Link don't work :-( But, I am very intrigued by this amp. Appetite truly whetted!
14. Open to offers bump!
15. Not much attention yet... I think I've priced it fairly considering these were originally over a grand. However I am open to offers! Don't confuse this with the standard Epiphone line, these are much better quality and far more authentic.
16. Very tempted by the Catalinbread...
17.
Did any of these chaps have a thread about it? googleing isnt helping.
There was, but the search function on TB isn't very helpful... I suggest sending a pm to Tbird1958, he seems to be the sage of all things Thunderbird on TB, and I know he's replaced the tuners before.
18. He needs to get well soon, it's one of my ambitions to see a Beatle!
19. An 'upset at lack of attention' bump.
20. That's incredible!
21. Lots of folk on Talkbass have tried this. It seems you would have to fan them out to avoid them hitting each other. A pitfall of the smaller headstock. And those ain't lollipops either ;-)
22. Looks like Frankenstein! Beautiful bass.
