  1. Wow. Well done. I was thinking of entering the comp and then my large format film addiction got the better of me and I bought some new film gear 🙈😩.
  2. Hey peeps, Hope everyone is good. I’m looking at both the laney digbeth head and the tone hammer. I wondered if anyone has used both and how they compare. Can’t fined a comparison. I’ve played through a tonehammer and I like it. Isn’t any stores close to try the laney digbeth. I have a pbass and play finger style funk, r&b,mostly. Melodic melody jazz stuff with chords also. I don’t slap. Cheers
  3. lol we all Have. Nice other stuff but that body was whispering for me to start a bista project. hope everyone enjoys the hottest day of the year.
  4. Why am I so slow. The weather made me to forget to come on here to check deals. That brown ash body…dam who ever got that is lucky.
  5. Oh dam, I see why you regret it. Ouch 😩
  6. I stand corrected. You have better eyes than me lol.
  7. Bassbros have a bb1100s in a competition. I think it’s a MIJ and not Taiwan as I’ve not seen a sunburst Taiwan made before. https://competitions.bassbros.co.uk/product/1987-yamaha-bb1100s/
  8. Found these details of specs on here when I was looking a while ago on specs of different bb basses
  9. Interesting. The jap bb’s are hard to find in uk. I’ll have a look at the bb414 and 1024 over here in uk. everyone who has heard my pulser or played it complements its tone. Yamaha do make some solid instruments
  10. Hey bud. I’ve a jap 70’s Yamaha pulser 400 which i absolutely love. I’m thinking of picking up a jap vintage bb which has a pj. I wonder how do the one you have and the higher tier compare?
  11. Thanks for informing us.
  12. Bought a loom kit from John. As usual top quality and service. I’ve bought from him before and will do so again.
  13. Know worries. I love the tone. I play mostly rnb, Motown, funk finger style works very well. it complements my wood combo with chords as well. Articulate but dreamy. arcane is really a top top pickup. I found out about them from a thread on talkbass. https://www.arcaneinc.com/bass
  14. Have you tried either Bartolini 8s or 8cbp? I have the 8cbp in my Yamaha 70’s Asian ash maple neck & fretboard. smooth, creamy tone yet articulate. The treble isn’t spiky at all. A good amount of bass. The 8s has less treble and is more smoother that the 8cbp. arcane pickups are also highly regarded. I’ve never tried the emg GZR pickups.
  15. Oh I didn’t see these. Are they the standard wind?
  16. Nice, did you pick that up from the bass gallery in camden? It looks rather familiar.
  17. he does have a very quiet voice. I didn’t expect that lol. venna is from the uk. Probably someone new. Venna is a solo artist himself. Some really cool stuff tbh. Alpha mist is also a great artist. Done some songs with youssef. Love is the message is one which stands out. On tone most definitely. When I went to see venna in London last year the bass sound muddy but I’m sure I was due to his EQ choice as his bass wouldn’t fat out mud lol.
  18. youssef is a great artist. Was venna also with them? Plays sax. I bumped into him in Peckham London randomly and had a chat. on rocco’s tone. That could be a EQ setting, PA, di or amp setup, dying strings etc. BB basses compared to traditional P’s cut more and aren’t really muddy.
  19. I remember jai paul years back. around 2013 when i heard his stuff while i was on tour. at the time i really liked it. he went ghost for a very long time. Rocco plays with yussef dayes and venna. His been sporting that BB 1100s for a while. Had a squier before that when working with tom misch. Does go to show that when it gels with you, it doesn't matter what the brand is.
  20. I do remember you speaking about this in some of your videos. congrats!!!!! Im still looking for amps so ill touch base with you in due course. enjoy the weather while it lasts here in uk lol
  21. oh ok. I just noticed that I have watch MANY of your vids on YouTube when I was learning about amps. Was wondering where you have been. Based in London so it may be a hassle heading to you.
  22. Did you post this on eBay also? I just saw one on there.
  23. he has some fascinating stories. As its carnival bank holiday, ill reach out to him.
  24. this song and arrangement has had me hooked for over a week. first listened to Anita baker’s rapture album after the Freddie Washington interview a few weeks back. Sweet love is great but this track is stuck in my head. David b Washington on bass. He was part of chapter 8. Interestingly Anita baker was a BV for chapter 8 also.
