Who needs an internal metronome when you can shred like a king lol. good points tbh. Cheers for advice

Cheers for the input. Noob question but how do you find the visual loop indicator better compared paired to say the basic ditto?
-
Hey peeps, looking to get a looper and my analysis paralysis syndrome is kicking in. Has anyone used the ditto, ditto+, ditto x2 or boss rc5? If so how do they compare. I want the looper from creating ideas and practising. Not bought one before and I really think a looper will suit my creativity. The ditto+ seems cool as you can loads drums on the device and also save them. I like the idea of the ditto x2 with the two button for stop and start. Never used one so would love some input. cheers

nice. Now you are free to from paralysis lol. Enjoy bud!!

I second what martin has described In terms of tone. I’ve the same bass. Mine made in 78 strung with chromes. Sustain is great also. The profile of neck is copied from the late 70’s fender precision (ash body maple fretboard) so is a profile B. Very comfortable to play. It’s so articulate for a Pbass. Sometimes a pbass with tone down can sound muddy and bassy but this bass is bassy and articulate. Chords sound beautiful on these. If a funk machine lol Bargain of a price as they are worth more. I got offered more than this for mine when someone played it. GLTWS. -

Oh I’ve heard such great things about the elf amp.

I’ve just bought a genzler Magellan 350 combo. It’s a separate head and a 10” array speaker. They are connected with a mount. Extremely compact and the tone is killer. As I see you have used genzler so you know the tone and quality

Hey bud, congrats on the journey of learning a instrument. I started with an inexpensive squier p bass. As when I was younger and broke my left wrist (fretting hand) I took my bass to get professionally setup at the bass gallery in London. My combo I think was a stagg. When I decided I wanted to commit more due to feeling improvement I was asking myself the exact same question. I went down the bass upgrade route but in all honesty I should have got a better amp/cab or combo. I say this as my old bass sounds great with my genzler Magellan combo. The crappy combo had probably been over pushed and exhausted the speakers. A proper setup makes a world of difference on how the bass plays and sounds. I would suggest either learn to setup your bass (it’s not hard at all) or go and get it setup. You can pick up a decent combo, cab & amp for such great prices on here. The used market is your friend. Also a change of string makes a drastic difference also.

Fender FotoFlame Precision Bass - LAST PRICE DROP

hey bud. Cheers for responding and the advise. have been playing it all day. I found ways to hear that warmth in either blue contour or amber. With amber I had contour at around 2 o’clock, bass boosted a tad and treble rolled off at 11 o’clock. blue (which I really like in my place) contour around 10’clock, boost the mids a tad with sweep at 2 o’clock and reduce the treble a tad. my tone knob on bass is nearly closed. more to learn. My ocd would like to know where 250,500 and 800hz is in the mids sweepable frequency lol. def let me know when you are next playing and I’ll come support.
-
Lol oh. I played the eich t500 at the bass gallery last year. Sounded nice. If I remember correctly the eich has a similar feature of genzler contour.
-
He does. He even replied to me on talk bass. You sold me on the sound tone hammer and barefaced one10. Just couldn’t find a place to hear it.
-
That’s a very good point. The abm evo has a warm woolly tone but is articulate. They are extremely different. I can definitely see this amp would help in a band situation. Need more time to play with it. What did you move on to after the Magellan?
-
Mate I was amazed how articulate my bass was. I put in a @KiOgon loom kit in and some Bart’s. Ive still the original pickups and some roundwounds so I’ll be interested to see how the sound changes. How did you go about achieving more warmth? I notice the treble doesn’t help much with my pbass with flats. It adds or takes away clank noise.
-
I wanted to upgrade my setup. I originally wanted a tone hammer with a barefaced one 10 but I couldn’t find a barefaced near me to play and see how I like it. I LOVE the tone of the ashdown abm evo IV heads but for home and jamming its over kill. The genzler combo with carry bag came up and decided to give it a try. It’s surprised me with how articulate my p bass is (Bart pickups & chrome flats). The setup is transparent, responsive and articulate even up the neck, something I haven’t heard before. This is the first amp head and speaker where even with my tone knob on bass turned down I get a really full articulate sound, not muddy boomy sound with no note definition. The EQ is near always at noon “flat” I play fingerstyle funk, r&b, fusion kinda jazz lol (melodic phrasing). This setup makes me want to play more jazz melodic music. The sound is amazing. Still trying to see how to get a tad more warmth from this amp and cab. It’s also near impossible to clip the gain light so figuring out configurations. The contour circuit is very useful. The blue circuit to my ears smooths things out where the amber boosts the mids and compresses bass and treble. anyone which a Magellan head or similar setup, what’s your settings like for the genre for funk, r&b, Motown stuff? cheers

His one of my favourite!!! Just finished watching this and came to share. Glad you shared this gold of a video. -
Yes. The sales assistant emailed back stating they don’t have a documentation of the EQ frequencies

Nik bought my Pedal preamp from me. Extremely smooth transaction. Genuinely a nice bloke. Would trust and recommend him.

NUX Mighty plug pro poor battery time
soulstar89 replied to soulstar89's topic in Accessories and Misc
sorry for late response I was cycling around London on my Brompton so I was shattered when I got back late. on the issue I think I’m going to return it. I tried it with the iPhone headphone but not for more than 20mins. I’ve got down time today at home with just editing so I’ll do more testing. on the difference in sound. I honestly think the MLD pedal was a little more richer in sound and sound less digital. I’m still trying to get a decent tone from the mighty plug pro. It sounds muddy. Brain tells me to lower bass and increase mids but not finding that sweet spot. If you like the mighty plug pro you will really like the MLD. I think it will shine more on a pedal board rather than a silent practice tool imo. Through a cab is nice tbh. If your amp has an effects loop return then it’s gold. -
Thanks for info. I will have to look what impedance my headphones are. I will give the crappy iphone headphones a try and see what happens. I will update later today.
-
I've not as yet. My Bose headphones are battery powered, music plays whether I switch on the Bose or not, but the sound becomes much louder when I turn on the Bose noise cancelling. I presume they are acting like a headphone amp.
-
It is under warranty and returns. I've until the 8th of July to return it.
