one of the main reasons I impulsively bought the tickets was seeing herbie Hancock and headhunters lol. I LOVE the albums they did together. The bass player wasn’t playing a Warwick. I couldn’t tell what it was. It could have been a MTD as the headstock has a circle logo. Once I couldn’t tell I just enjoyed the music lol.

He was a really chilled nice person. It was so so hot in the venue. I hadn’t seen them before but when I saw the kind of music they do I just bought the tickets. Well work the money. I’ll have to check out medeski martin and wood.

Went to watch band resolution 88 at jazz refreshed, 91 livingroom brick lane. They play jazz fusion. Really really solid group. Bass player was right in the pocket. If you ever get a chance I would give them a listen or go watch. Really enjoyed them.

cheers at what price point do you start to hear a audible difference? I’ve seen two mic inputs ranging from 90-200 (behringer, mackie and Yamaha) The Yamaha session cakes worked but the sound had a muffled metallic sound to it.

Hey peeps. A little update. I went to Anderson’s to get the behringer mini headphone amp. The assistant was adamant it wouldn’t work and the returns is a hassle so we left it. He was extremely helpful. First time to Anderson’s and my lord is it great!!! Picked up the Yamaha sessioncake in the Yamaha store. Really helpful staff again. Bought two but didn’t like the sound all that much. I'm just going to pick up a mixer and headphone amp so we can both hear what is coming out of the mixer and adjust volume independently. My question is mackie and behringer of the same standard? This is a learning curve for me.

you know you have mad it when they turn the music off lol

This is very surreal. Literally Saturday gone I was going to head to the pmt is Romford as I wanted a mixer and to try some headphones. I don’t go as I left it to late. In London it’s only Anderson’s that have a very big selection. Went for the first time on Monday. Guitar guitar in Camden is tiny in comparison. So disappointing.

wow what bargains. The natural finish look gorgeous. I wish I was playing bass when bargains like this was to be had. I bet the ash body and maple neck sound great for finger style percussive playing.

yes I agree. Only reason I’m looking to sale mine is I’ve now got the nux mighty plug pro for home practice.

The Melvin Lee Davis preamp with DI and IR loader is a shout. It’s has a sweepable mid frequency which is ideal for double bass. Hi and low pass filter (you adjust via computer software then it is set once you unplug). Three amps available including the Aguilar tonehammer and you can load I.R cabs if you are going in ears. I literally have put mine up for sale in the effects thread. It’s very very very capable. I play pbass, flats with the b15 I.R cab sim and Aguilar amp. Puts a smile on my face.

Hey peeps. Moving on my Melvin Lee Davis preamp,DI &ir loader with data cable to install software as well as power cable. I bought this to use as a silent practice setup. Never left the house, or gigged. It’s like new tbh. I’m including the data cable you need to install the software. Great sounding preamp. It has a low and high pass filter which is accessible on the software and sets once you disconnect. Software has drum beats and a loop! You can also use this as an audio interface. Extremely capable tool. I’m moving to the mighty plug pro2. Asking for £100+shipping. I think this is fair considering the cable and power lead. Happy for collection if you are in London. happy to answer any questions. SOLD PLEASE DELETE

I am a fan of johnathan maron also. You can source the bb3000 in Japan. Bassjapandirect has a service where he finds basses you are after. Danny may still have a red one up for sale. One in video is gone now I think. I follow him on YouTube. His helped me identify some basses. I would love a bb3000 or a p/j with a reverse p pickup.

my lord that is sexy. Other than paint job and possibly bridge is everything stock?

Artist javier Santiago did this with one of his albums. He did a small batch of vinyl copies. I went to see him nearly the beginning of the year in brick lane London and spoke to him about it. He was happy he didn’t order a big batch.

Im a 80’s baby and grew up on cassettes,cd’s and the mini discs. I am a very analogue person and prefer physical items. I loved opening up the cd and booklet to see who played what parts. Finding this info nowadays is so so long. Sometimes you can’t find the info. Baffles and frustrates me. Sadly I am the minority and digital copies are the standard in this era. The impact of the smart phone has changed how people consume things. Laptops don’t have a cd drive anymore. Whatever the younger generation deem as normal is what the companies will keep doing. I walked past the iconic hmw in Oxford street London a week ago and it seemed like a cluttered pound store. It was so surreal to see what it has become. I say all this coming from someone who chooses to shoot analogue film rather than use digital cameras to create my art work. I hope physical items become more popular and the trend moves in this direction. Doubt it though.
