I wouldn't call myself fat so don't go there. My BC handle is as a result of a nickname my band mates gave me (admittedly 30 years ago)..I digress. It's not so much my back that hurts. It's my left shoulder. Hang a 10lb bass off it for 2hours plus and it aches...for the last half hour of the set I cease concentrating on my playing and just want to get it off and get back to the dressing room. With a 7-8lb bass happy to play 3 encores and an extra half hour.

Kontakt 4 and Evolution Electric Guitar Strawberry http://www.orangetre...itar-strawberry Being seriously lacking in my ability to play 6 string that library is a godsend....I also have the steel string acoustic for kontakt that they do too. http://www.orangetre...r-steel-strings Here's a little ditty i wrote using both libraries - it almost sounds like a proper guitar even the electric strumming from 2.09 !! Superior Drummer 2 is my goto drum kit

What bass is it? Having the top horn extend as far as the 12th fret keeps most basses well enough balanced. If the top strap button is any closer to you then getting the headstock as light as possible is key - (gotoh resolites/hipshot ultralites)

Probably down to the quality of the AD converter in the B3 - I'd imagine it's not the best

What defines a bass as a jazz bass? is it the body shape? The pickup combination? Or the neck? 3 of my basses have Jazz necks mated to P(ish) shaped bodies....I love a jazz neck...but I love the P body too....perhaps I need a different thread?

Has this guy been ripped off, or did he just sign a bad deal?

Spotify 'royalties' have always been pants.....I make an almost insiginificant percentage of my royalty income from Spotify. -
I think I'd avoid WD40 as it might get into the windings.
Will not do any harm whatsoever
I`ve a bad back and playing a 10lb+ bass isn`t good for it. However I`ve also found that basses under 8.5lbs don`t feel "right" to me, so prefer them around the 9lb mark.
try my dinkyP on Saturday lozz and you'll change your mind.....possibly

I'm quite obsessed by weight. My band plays 2 to 2 1/2 hour sets and does 4 hour rehearsals. That's a long time to be stood with a 10/11 lb bass hanging off your shoulder. My current favourite bass is a mere 7lb 3oz..
There's something special about having a bass built exactly the way you wanted.
that's why I'm such a fan of Warmoth. Yes - I like fenders. I love the P body shape - the contours just fit. I love the slim jazz neck Fender themselves seem so rarely to put out a P bodied J necked bass... So I've now got 3 Warmoths! A P bodied J necked 20 fretter with a babicz bridge, fender original 62 pup, gotoh gb640 lightweight tuners A P bodied J necked PJ which is soon to get a Warmoth J lined fretless ebony boarded neck. And a DinkyP (Warmoth's mini P body) with a Status jazz neck, fender original 62 pup, babicz bridge & gotoh gbr640 tuners I like fenders but warmoths are more fun!

I might come along to this - hangover permitting.... What shall i bring with me? Status necked Warmoth DinkyP TecAmp Puma 900 Barefaced Gen3 Super midget.... Any other basses? -
I have a Status neck bolted to a Warmoth DinkyP body. It is by far the nicest bass to play i've ever owned and at 7lbs 3oz I can wear it for hours.
A Sessionette 100 by any chance? I used to torture one badly with extended bass feedback drones on my Hofner Verithin. Amazed it carried on working sometimes.
yes 4x10 sessionette 100 combo - I sold it to moonbassalpha of this parish 25 odd years ago Our guitarist still uses a Session 75 guitar amp from the same vintage.

I'm not sure I understand the folk who shell out for the high end gear only to sell it on at great loss a few months later. I'm from the buy well, buy once school of thought and tend to hang on to stuff until it's either stolen or broken beyond repair. That said i dod sell a hartke cab once and years ago a Session combo but only after years of use.
They could have picked a better one to take a photo of!
How wonky is that neck plate?

I have a Warmoth PJ fretted bass which is soon to be given a fretless neck. I've never really liked the pickup combination in it - I have a Fender 'original 62' P pickup and an Allparts J bridge pickup fitted. I'm not sure if it's a wiring issue or poorly matched pickups but these pickups don't blend well and the P pickup tends to dominate unless wound off almost completely. It's wired VVT. So I'm looking to replace the pups with something which allows me more control over the pups and bring the bridge pup into play more for those smooth fretless tones. What would you suggest?

fender jazz buzzes when i touch strings? Any ideas?
Twigman replied to skidder652003's topic in Repairs and Technical
I had this problem with a bass once and found that the bridge wire was connected to one pot, the output jack earth was connected to the other pot but the two pot bodies weren't connected meaning the first pot was not earthed properly. -
I have Jazz necks and Babicz bridges on 2 of my P basses and as a result the strings are not quite widely spaced enough to sit exactly between the pole pieces of my Fender 'original 62' pickups. It makes no difference to the sound but I can understand how those with OCD might get frustrated.
