Well I have made 3 precisions and have done it on all of them. They are not noisy, in fact they're silent. I can only assume the shielding helps. Considering it's cheap and easy to do, why wouldn't you?

I don't know what kind of gigs you're doing but clearly you're doing better than me.

I have a lead which I treat and store this way too. It's umpteen years old and works as well today as the day I bought it, which if I'm honest could have been anytime from the 80s through to the 2010s. It's not branded, just a generic cheap bright green instrument cable. I use it to connect my pedal board to my amp so it gets plenty of work.

should bands carry on when there's only one original member?
Twigman replied to PaulWarning's topic in General Discussion
But fans still have their favourite tunes irrespective of chart success. A band doesn't need chart success to have fans who are willing to pay to see them play. We play tunes from the entire back catalogue. Having a 'big hit' isn't really relevant. We are always compared to the 'original lineup' despite that lineup only putting out a small proportion of the catalogue. I know that when we bring on former members of the band our fans feel privileged to experience that. -

We've had 9 albums out and have never been in the charts - the lower echelons of the indie charts don't count really , do they?. We're still touring. -

That's as may be but there were over 200 bands at the festival. All touring. I highlighted them as exceptions. -
should bands carry on when there's only one original member?
Twigman replied to PaulWarning's topic in General Discussion
Really? you have to ask? There are hundreds of them. I played a festival in the summer, in Leipzig, with over 200 bands on and not one of them has ever been in the charts, although New Model Army and Tangerine Dream might've been, I'm not sure. And that's just one festival. On the circuit we tour in Europe we come across bands that have never charted everywhere we go: The likes of Balaam and the Angel and Soft Kill for example. -

The charts are of little consequence these days. There are many bands touring that have been going for years with multiple releases that have never been near the charts -
How is that any different from a cavity with a scratchplate? You can still only shield the bottom and sides of a cavity (scratchplate or no scratchplate) with the pickup poking through the top

very strange stuff - but then this is Gary Emmins we're talking about - I've lost touch too - I only heard about it via our merch man https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvVKm20e7Ih51febhGQPR0Q https://thefilthyspectacula.com/the-main-deck -

Should be added to the family tree, then. The one above goes to about 1990....we've got 30 years to add to it!! He played bass and vocals in Traumatics -

Do you know him? He's from the Traumatics days and the birth of SLAG -
Perhaps I should change my name to Ernie Ball ?

The last? That could be 20 lineups removed from the original lineup. -
should bands carry on when there's only one original member?
Twigman replied to PaulWarning's topic in General Discussion
Several years ago we put together a 'family tree' - back then SLAG were version #7 - today we're on version #9 and I'm back in the band (have been for several years) - acts not on the tree that probably should be there: Rudimentary Peni & Above and Beyond -

What do you class as the 'original lineup' ? Is it the lineup that attends the first rehearsal? Or the lineup that records the first record? Does a name change count as the same band or another? -
Do you consider reading music important?
Twigman replied to greghagger's topic in Theory and Technique
I understand what a minim, a crotchet, a quaver, a semi-quaver etc is........I just can't read the rhythm.- 115 replies

Twigman replied to greghagger's topic in Theory and Technique
I used to be able to read treble clef - I am OK getting the pitch right but reading rhythm eludes me. Bass clef is still a mystery to me ( I can never remember the stave).- 115 replies

When i got my nano+ I drilled out the feet and replaced them with 4 jacknuts and taller rubber feet. It means I can get my T-Rex Chamelon underneath, no problem. It's a simple mod that costs pence and takes 30 minutes tops.
