2.
maybe you could pay for someone to stand somewhere off stage and be your "Pick Monkey".
This sounds like a goer.

5.
On a jazz or a precision it is usually in the top of the scratchplate.
Aye that is how my precision plate got badly warped..I'm looking for another solution. I reckon a few blu-tacked somehwere might mean there's one not fallen off by the time I need one.
6.
Blu-tak
I never thought of that.....hmmm
7.
That's quite amazing, you have a keyboard AND a bass player?
You taking the mick?
8. I have decided that the final song in our set would be better played with a plectrum but all the other songs will be fingers. In the past I would stuff a plectrum between the body and the scratchplate but my scratchplate severely warped doing that. As the final song runs on from the previous fingered song in a medley style I have a mere 4 bars (@ something like 140bpm) to grab my plectrum and sort myself out.... I don't think a back pocket would work and I probably won't be able to see if it's atop my amp... Where do you keep yours?
9. I think when I come to sell my bass I'll have to double/treble/quadruple the price and add the 'owned by *Twigman* from SL&G"...after all we've got loads more listeners on last.fm than him which must make me more famous than him. http://www.last.fm/music/Stuart+Zender 1,234 plays (74 listeners) http://www.last.fm/music/Sad+Lovers+and+Giants 158,493 plays (17,040 listeners) Anyone want to buy a Squire JV P (Fiesta Red) for say £2000 ? mind http://www.last.fm/music/Jamiroquai 17,665,177 plays (771,738 listeners) might need to be factored in....I suppose
10. I've never had a bass lesson in my life but sometimes employ a technique which involves damping strings with the outside of my plucking hand.
11. I hope they don't make the same mistake that TWO/Magicalia did with Visordown. They introduced their own forum software and demanded an opt out of promos and made whole areas of the site subscription only....... That was horrible. Everyone deserted and set up their own place. Edit: hook line sinker - but i've seen it happen too often for real

14. I use these http://www.hotroxuk.com/elites-flatwounds-9623-0.html and I love them
15.
I don't get the 'P has One sound' though. Ok, its never going to have the variation of certain other basses with loads of EQ but you can get a fair amount of tone from a P by a twist of the tone pot and moving your right hand to play near the bridge/neck. Sit back and wait for the backlash!!!
What backlash? I agree 100%
16. Have you tried offering it here: http://www.21frets.com/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl? Some serious JV collectors there

Today's Tip:

Battery? What you need is a passive bass - no batteries required - no memory required.
18. Practicing for these - after many years off:
19. 1987 at Club Isla, Pacha, Valencia - the only live photo I could find. After we get back from tour I'll post what we look like 22 years later!
20. nobody tempted by the spicy wedges then?
21. c'mon - someone must want it!!! Must shift it this weekend. I'll throw in a bag of McCains Spicy Potato wedges if you like...
22. So are all 4 strings tuned to D? That'd be novel.
23.
Allparts and WD stock it. I'd guess other parts places do as well. http://www.allparts.uk.com/wire-gauge-vint....html?p=product http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/product/Vintage_W...-_2_Ft._WIREBKF http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/product/Vintage_W...-_2_Ft._WIREWTF
Thanks - I guess that's yet anothe Allparts order to place. Along with my forever on back order order.
24. Where might I buy Fender vintage style fabric covered wiring in the UK? I'd like a length of white fabric covered wire. THX
