1.
Not apparent on my laptop, but if I look on my ipad which has a much better screen resolution the words BADASS BASS II can be seen when zoomed in.
*squint* Oh, aye... damn my failing eyes...
 2.
Interstingly also are the pictures on Fender's site of the Mike Dirnt roadworn bass, and new Steve Harris bass in that the specs state the fender bridge, and the pictures still show the Badass bridge on the basses.
Looks like the new bridge on the Steve Harris to me...?
 3. I have a feeling there's a bit of a complicated story behind the disappearance of Leo Quann...
 4.
Well, this is on it's way to me soon. 63P in faded sonic blue, with lightest relic available. Can't wait to get my hands on it!
Oh, wow.. that's such nice relic'ing....
 5. They're prevalent up here - mostly acoustic nights, although there's a couple of jam nights around too. I occasionally go to an acoustic night with my ol' Pa 'cos he likes to sing Johhny Cash tunes... and as the only bass player I often spend most of the night up there. It keeps me on my toes. The downside is, they're throttling the live band scene.
 6.
My only criticism? The camera isn't wide enough for my liking. I've had it by the side of the stage and it's been difficult to get us all in. However, guess that's only a minor point.
Yep - that would be mine too. It's a good bit of kit. Glad I didn't pay £150, though!
 7.
I do think the title of this thread should be changed, after all, it's mostly down to couriers and not Thomann.
I agree. I've changed the title to something a little more representative.
 8.
Strangely enough, Alex Lifeson doesn't feel the need to make similar arrangements! NP may 'enjoy' a certain amount of fame, but Lennon was on a different planet in that respect...
Lennon was an outgoing people person, and I suspect Alex and Geddy are too. Neil can probably be filed alongside Kate Bush.
 9. You can't see it, but here's my S112 in action last night... It sounds awesome. So round, warm and growly. Lots of clarity even without a tweeter. Love it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-ZiHE3Ldfg
 10.
GAK have got the USA Geddy advertised: http://www.gak.co.uk...as-black/109429 Anybody know why Fender are no longer using Badass bridges on the Geddy & the Steve Harris signature models, are they no longer available or something?
No longer available....
 11.
or having water hosed on it by firemen.
Sorry - I didn't mean that. It's electrical, so they'll be putting some sort of powder on it.
 12.
Within 12 months this'll end up being heavily reduced or discontinued.....
...or gathering dust on a repair bench, or having water hosed on it by firemen.
 13. 'B-Social brings Ashdown sound quality to the desktop' SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!* *This is pure sarcasm
 14.
Just think they look a bit odd, dated?
Yep..I think they're hideous.
 15.
Wander across to TB and do a search on Bergantino IP stuff.
Oh, it's the same kind-of thing as that? Deffo not my bag then, but I'm sure it'll appeal to a lot of people...
 16. I'm intrigued, too. What will it do? (As long as it's not like TC's power management system, 'cos that makes me want to sick up a little.)
 17.
Also also, wot a sausage fest.
If there's no orchestra on this tour, I'll probably go. Mind, if they don't do Jacob's Ladder this time around, I shall by mightily cross.
 18. Ah, they've got the Dimension in proper 3TSB now, instead of that horrible violin burst. I'm trying to work out what the Journeyman P's have that previous CS P's haven't...?
 19.
7lbs is amazing
it's actually a typo - it's 8lbs. Which is still pretty good...
 20.
Just notes? No heart and soul?
The problem with The Wreckers is that, IMO, some of the lyrics are straight out of the 'Moon, Spoon and June' book of rhyme, especially the opening verse. I cringe when I hear it. One of the better tunes off CA, mind.
 21. Incidentally, I've mentioned this elsewhere but I listened to Counterparts by accident fairly recently. I haven't head it for ages, and I was amazed how alive, organic, punchy and direct it sounds. I wish they'd record like that now, instead of layering the life out of everything.
 22.
Didn't really want to as you can see from the reaction above.... but the whole thing comes over as lacking... a sequence of meandering riffs, runs and fills. I don't see or hear any real musicality either but a decent degree of proficientcy in executing it. So, stuff like this has no real connection for me... there is nothing that grasps ..nothing that captures and nothing there at all, basically. If you took away the presentation and large scale of it..plus the fact that you know it is them, it all sounds like a poor pub prog band. If I close my eyes...or if you just played an audio, that is what I'd think. Music for me must have soul... and stuff like this just doesn't..it is all notes, and nothing else there.... IMHO, of course. Sorry for that...
I'm what could be classed as a rabid fan of many years' standing, but I can totally see where you're coming from. Fact is, they're an acquired taste. And to be honest, what you say about 'a sequence of meandering riffs, runs and fills' is pretty much how I feel about their current output. I still love 'em, though, which is typical of the loyalty of their fanbase.
 23. I'm a big Berg fan, but the digital interface makes me think of those awful Ashdown abonimations. *shudder* But it's Bergantino, so even though it doesn't ring my bell one jot, I'm sure it's lovely.
 24.
A lot of these being ordered, but a lot coming back up for sale? I love the look of them. Perfect attention to detail.
FWIW, I sold my J 'cos I'm hooked and I want a P. The order is going in when I can decide on the spec...
 25. Yeah - I've seen that advertised in a couple of places. A bit on the rich side, IMO...
