6.
What components (if any) would you mod Tom? Wonder who's going to be the first to try fitting a fender scratchplate...
Hey Oli! I'm thinking of a scratchplate first, I have a spare pearloid and it'll look amazing on the sonic bloo. I have a spare Mex pickup but to be honest I don't think it'll be any better than the one that's on Other than that I will get a pot and wiring kit off egay and go from there, but there again the pots are fine, very progressive so why bother? I'd be doing it for the sake of doing it... Think I'll pop down for a white one now
7. I agree, I wouldn't like to touch a grubby bass, you can still have'mojo' and be clean
8. In case you need verification: In case you can't read it the serial number is: B002837 and can be verified here: http://www.guitarnucleus.com/fenderserial.html

10. I have a set of chrome covers but they will be £15 extra. I bought them recently, they didn't come with the bass. *edit* no I won't sell them separately
11. Thanks John, it's appreciated. I've moved on to G&L now so all my Fender's will be up for sale.
12. Hi folks me again. I have on offer to you discerning people my1985 FENDER MIJ 75 REISSUE, it is in outstanding original condition. It hasn't been drilled for any covers, thumbrests etc' and the 3 colour sunburst is virtually faultless, I can't see any dings or marks on the body or neck. The only scuffs are on the scratchplate from playing. You all know how fussy I am with my gear and this is typical of my basses. In case you can't read it the serial number is: B002837 and can be verified here: http://www.guitarnucleus.com/fenderserial.html I'm asking £675 firm because of its condition. Delivery is extra at cost. I won't take an offer for it, it is worth every bean. It comes with a Gator hard case too. The only part ex I would be interested in is...yes a G&L L-2000 with a maple board. Thanks for your time.
13. You watch, the Jaguar will be too complicated next

http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=119976 Glad it turned out to be a reasonable instrument.
You did sir, my apologies
15.
I agree
Of course it is
16. What have I started? I'd be interested in anyone else's comments. I've seen the guitars, don't bother
17. In several words, yes with bells on. They rang me and told me it had arrived about 2 hours ago so I've been and picked it up. FIT & FINISH: It's very well made for a bass costing £200, the frets are quite well dressed and no sharp bits. The paintwork is flawless and the neck has a gorgeous grain on the back. I removed the scratchplate to have a look at the pots and the wood in the cavities, yes I would say it's Alder and the weight is about right at around 9-9.5 lbs. The 'R' cutout on the S.plate is a bit twee. HARDWARE: The splitcoil pickup is very powerful and although the tone & volume pots are generic they have a great natural easily controllable action to them, normally on the cheap stuff the tone is either on or off but this is very gradual across the spectrum. The volume is the same too. The bridge is a super high mass type AND strung through!!!! he tuners look good in my opinion and they do work well with no issues. Strings are the usual cheap sh*t that are fitted for transit really. SETUP: I have spent about an hour setting it up to my liking, the intonation was easy and straightforward, truss rod works fine and needed very little adjustment. I have lowered the action quite a bit and it's great to play. CONCLUSION: This bass is far better than you have a right to expect. I would go as far as to say it's as good as any Squier that I've had. It has great potential for modding too. For 60 quid it's a total no-brainer. Go and buy 2!! Did I mention the gigbag? Really good it is. Also get a strap & lead ! They have a white one in stock..........
18. Yeah, don't stand there plonking away at practice while people are talking, it's bloody annoying. The guy before me used to do it when I was guitarist. Mind he was an ignorant twat.
19.
Wow - lovely! I wouldn't be surprised if the marks would polish out easily (if anybody could be bothered). Good price too, especially with the SKB! Good luck - I'm really tempted but my collection needs to diminish rather than expand
Which SKB is that? It doesn't have a case does it? Lovely bass Nick!
20. I think there is a bit of confusion here. The big guitar factories in China are ultra modern and working conditions are supposed to be much better now. The rag trade is where your tirades should be directed. Stop buying sweat shop clothes, they are the real losers.
21.
If they are Stagg quality then they should be good, i've liked some Stagg stuff.
Me too, I was a Stagg dealer when I had my shop. Before I closed I bought 3 Bass gigbags, they retail at more than £100 each and are the best I've seen! As an aside, has anyone heard of the Stagg 'James Nellist' limited edition electro acoustic guitars? I asked the rep who James Nellist was and he laughed and said that he's an accountant at head office in Germany, they just thought it sounded good on a guitar I'm Tom Anderson and my guitars are exceptional. Well expensive anyway....
22. From what I hear they are from the stagg messenwerks. No brainer for 60 quid so we'll see.
23. Well I just ordered one from our local SR. Be here by the weekend so I'll report back.
24. Nice? Antigua here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1978-Fender-Precisio...=item4aa801226a
25. Cheers, it is a Fujigen bass and it is a stunner, my pics don't do it justice. Got to think whether I want to sell it now.
