[/quote] There are some purely acoustic ones, for example the old Eko B4 from the 70s, but you won't hear it when playing with others without amplification.

I think the Westone Thunder 1A was a twenty fret 34" scale bass.

It's not drilled for the tugbar and for the pickup and bridge ashtrays. Should it be?

Part of me (i.e my back) prefers lighter rather than heavier but I also have a feeling that a nice solid (i.e. heavier) piece of wood might sound better. Below 10lbs and I'm happy.

I bet that poster is going for a lot more than a pound these days.
