When they replaced a damaged stand for me it was about fourteen days from my initial email requesting a replacement to receipt of the replacement but those fourteen days included Chrstmas and New Year.

Very nice, I've always fancied one of those.

Cocktail sticks are harder wood than matchsticks and so, IMO, provide a more substantial and lasting result.

My words are always something like dee-dah-didly-da.

Fill the hole with cocktail sticks and a bit of wood glue. When it's dry, screw the straplok back on.
