1. When you say coaxial... aren't they just Speakon connectors? They look like it to me. I'd be surprised if neither the Bass Cellar nor the Bass Gallery had Speakon-Speakon cables! Or have I missed something about the Hellborg rig?
 2.
Surely to wink you need two eyes so that part would be unnecessary
Very well, the swines may keep their eyes! Instead, they shall each close one eye while playing an out-of-tune piano and quaffing cheap wine. So then they're the Drinky-Plonky Honky-Tonky Winky Wonky Donkeys.
 3.
Close: http://www.myspace.com/thewonkydonkeys
If they put out an eye each and start playing an out-of-tune piano, they could be the Honky-Tonky Winky Wonky Donkeys.
 4.
(NB I would have said ACG as well, But Alan's only made 1 J-type and prefers to do his own thing I think).
True. But both the Recurve and the Finn are relatively traditional-looking body shapes, and Alan'll do two single coils. And he'd probably put them in Jazz positions if you begged him hard enough. It's the preamp that makes a real tonal difference, and there's no passive option with ACG, so you'd probably never quite get that standard Jazz sound.
 5.
Im thinking MAYBE a Spector...but I dont know what their string spacing and necks are like.
Aren't all their 5-strings 35" scale? The extra inch not make too much of a difference to you, but it was just a bit too much for my smallish hands down in first position.
 6.
I am thinking Stingray 5, secondhand....seem to be going very cheap recently.
Have you hefted one in the flesh before? If not, we could attempt to meet up now you're in the region, and you could have a bash on mine. Admittedly it's a fretless with a polyestered ebony board, so it's unlike any other SR5 in existence (AFAIK), but you're welcome to try it out. I love it, but the weight still takes me by surprise a little bit every time I pick it up, especially if I'm coming from a stint on my Fender.
 7.
Failing this, a MM Style Humbucker (and probably to save messing about, an actual Stingray/Sterling!) <snip> Decent medium weight, nothing heavy.
MM Sterling 5? A touch smaller and lighter than the SR5 (if you find the SR5 too heavy, that is). Not something you come across too often though, and you're definitely looking at second-hand on your budget. Or get Alan to build you an ACG.
 8.
Westone Kitty thanks you - SEE WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED!! I was working in the lab late one night. . . . . . . . . . The "IbaRail". . . . More power, More power. . .
Yeecccchhhh. The only way this thing should be bastardised is by defretting it and melding it with its Rail twin. Double-neck Rail, one fretted, one fretless. Sorted.
 9.
It took some getting used to at the regearsal
I nominate this as a new word: regearsal: n a rehearsal in which one is testing new gear
 10.
I´ve got socks, pants, robe, slippers, 20 odd shits, Shoes watch, wallet and a few caps
Do they come out with the logo embossed on?
 11. I bought Steve's Peep expression pedal. Nice and quick, good and easy communication. It arrived quickly and well packed. Top stuff, top bloke. Can't go wrong with Steve!
 12. Major, in the words of Stephen Fry, you are a "shining ball of furious beauty". Thank you.
 13.
Nice bass, although it's got a chip about one inch long on the upper bout (where your right forearm goes over the bass).
I don't want to be a pedantic dick (which is a shame, because I am ), but your right forearm should actually go over the lower bout, unless you're attempting some extreme double-handed tapping gymnastics. "Upper bout" refers to the widening of the body nearest the neck, and the "lower bout" is the widening of the body nearest the bridge, thus (obviously it's an upright bass, but the same goes for all stringed instruments): Anyway, sorry. Free bump!
 14.
Save the Westone kitty?!!?
Believe me, if it's still around by the time I've managed to sell off a few bits and bobs, I'll save that kitty.
 15.
Might bolt it (carefully) onto a hack guitar and create a twin neck with it, if no one feels like giving it a loving home.
That's like saying, "Give the kitty a loving home or he's going in the river." If only I could afford to save the Westone kitty at the moment...
 16.
My sentiments exactly after seeing a live sex show.
Jeez, I need to get along to your village more often.
 17. None more black. The matching headstock's a really nice touch IMO. I'd love to try one of these out next time I'm in Newcastle. Hope it doesn't turn into an expensive trip...
 18.
Ah, fair enough. it just feels more African to me.
+1. Quite a jit-jive feel to it.
 19.
3 PUPs and a graphite titanium neck is a little weird.
3 pups wired into Vol-Vol-Tone is even weirder. And there's an odd little round cavity plate on the back of the body which doesn't seem to correspond to anything on the front.
 20.
Freakin awesome band, dude
Too right. They don't seem to get the respect I'd say they deserve. And if I had to choose one band in the world to play bass with... it'd be them. With the current two-drummer line-up (Dale Crover and Coady Willis), that'd be awesome. Of course, I'd have to kill Jared Warren to do that.
 21. Two little easy beauties from the Melvins: (Entirely subjective as to whether they're a pleasure, of course. )
 22.
Good luck finding as many guitarists and drummers!
Ah, drummers... If anybody knows a decent drummer in Newcastle who likes the heavy-riffing end of things (think Melvins, Eyehategod, Sleep) and can play in silly time signatures, shoot me a message.
 23. Yet again I direct Basschat to the Band Name Maker. I'm not suggesting you use randomly generated names like Desktop Orifice, Bloody Math or Grinding Babylon (...or am I?), but you might find a useful starting point.
 24. And I've beaten my own speed record for buying stuff on BC.
 25.
I've been lusting over this for aaaaaaaaages... http://www.guitarrez.com/inventory/ibanezb...bzbtb575fm.html
In case you're interested, here are my thoughts on its redder cousin. In summary, heavy and huge but smooth-sounding and loud. Not very metal, and I feel that's your orientation, judging from your other post above... For me... dunno. I'd like to give an Enfield (with the Super 8 pickup system) a thorough workout.
