  1. Certainly Andy From neck end: 1. Volume, 2. Blend, 3. +/- Bass/treble stack with bright pull on top knob, 4. Sweepable +/- mids with frequency on bottom, 5. Passive tone, that works in active also and engages passive when lifted. A very powerful and versatile preamp. I'm just about to take some photos, weigh the bass and put the full spec up. I'll see if it fits the Hiscox and check the Luminay dots still shine. Peter
  2. Not owning an ACG was a place I wasn’t comfortable with, knowing Alan as I do and having owned quite a few over many years. So I was chuffed when I acquired this lovely instrument. However, a fractured spine over 2 years ago and ongoing back pain with an osteoporosis diagnosis has meant that only lightweight basses are doable. On Thursday I’ll take some current photos (as well as getting an accurate weight). Please see photos on later post. A beautiful instrument in great condition, cocobolo top, lovely maple fingerboard with Luminay dots (and UV torch). The electronics are an East Uni Pre with passive and a passive tone control. 35” scale gives an immense B string, the best I’ve played. There is a blemish on the far end of the face of the headstock. It may be from a tuner?? It was there when I bought the bass and it’s almost impossible to see. If anyone would like to check this bass out that would be most welcome. Peter

  16. I took the Curtis Novak gold foil equipped Sire D5 to band rehearsal yesterday to see what it was like ‘in the mix’. It was a very ‘woody’ wholesome P bass tone with huge presence and ability to cut though and remain more than just another bass. I was extremely pleased.
  17. Of interest is that adjusting the horn and tweeter (2) rheostat settings on the back of the Accugroove made no difference to my ears. I need to try the other one and investigate further. It may be that its warm tone is due to no horn or tweeter action. Peter
  18. Vince, on sharing the photos I've had a question about your GR Cab, specifically what is it and what is it like.... Peter
  19. Left is Vince (VSmith1), 5th from left is Peter Jamison (peterjam), 8th is Rob (Ossyrocks) and finally me. I work on Sundays so Saturday was most excellent. Peter
  20. A few photos from the day.
  21. I was slightly stunned when my Cumbrian wife declined a cup of tea after walking in from the Limestone Walk. But, it seems that a beer was more important. It was warm.
  22. There must get be some in the warehouse.
  23. Nick was a lovely chap. I bought the Chris Squire Ric that he found in Cash Converters years ago. Like many, I should have hung on to it.
