2. Sorry I missed the audere! Let me know if it comes up again!! T
3.
Are you sure Tony Stage I 4 string is a P/J rig...
I know, I have owned a few, my reference was to the "J" part of that p/up combo, figured that was obvious I was using it to give an indication of size T
4. I have a pair of MEC gold active p/ups. They are identical in size and are out of a Stage 2 five string, they also fit 4 string stage 1's, I think they are a ceraminc bar magnet Condition - one is mint, the other has some wear, photo's to follow they are 95mm wide, same as my 4 string jazz Cheers Tony
5. Bump The fault I had with the neck pick up has now ben resolved. I got a pair of used p/ups (couldn't find a single) when fitting it, noticed the fault was due to the earth (outer core of the white cable) was soldered in with the inner core. I had the new pick up in when I realised what had happened. Soldered it in correctly and it works fine. So the bass is now in full working order Tony
6. Hi Saw this earlier and held out replying until this evening as I had a potential buyer for the bass, as a result the bass is now sold Thanks for all the enquiries Tony
7. Just about to hit the weekend BUMP T
8. It is indeed nice wood! Still waiting for new p/up, should be here this week. I will consider a trade on this, but not playing too much 5 string so I have a minimum cash value my way in mind. Always worth a punt though Tony
9. Was asked about string spacing, it is, measured at the bridge, centre of the strings, 17.5mm I will consider a trade on this, but not playing too much 5 string so I have a minimum cash value my way in mind. Always worth a punt though Tony
10. Fel the lurv! Indeed a good place this is! T
11.
it just grates on me,..........
You really should get our more, how can you let something like that "grate" you? Get a life! If you don't sort it now it may have significant psychological side effects as ou get older T
12. MB1, pedals, whas happening? T
13.
blimy didnt realize it was so serious!
It isn't for most of us Pics would be good! T
14. Yes it is, apologies for lack of communication this week, had a hard one in work Back on it today T
15. I picked up a Jap Fender ,75 reissue a few weeks back, from the conversation I had, it dated about 10 years back and for it's age is in average to good condition! Decided to take a look at the serial today. It's A028453 with "made in Japan" on the headstock According to the various Fender dating sites out there, that puts it around 1985-1986! Fender serials I thought it was 1997 ish, but I think that would say "crafted in Japan" on the headstock. Can someone confirm this is correct? Tony
16.
Beats me why they got it in anyway, unless the distributor insisted they take in US ones too. How is anyone going to sell a £3K bass when it is hung up with dead strings, massive action and dust and crap all over it? And before you say vintage Fender, you know what I mean
I think SC took over distribution, thats why they have all the big $$ basses in! T

Moogerfooger

Low pass filter is great, I'd have another tomorrow if I could find one used, just need to put it in a loop cos it sucks tone baaaad, are the others the same? T
18. 34" scale, I need to check the string spacing, it ain't narrow like my 5 string Dolphin! 1 x 9v battery for the schack pre! T
19. Just to confirm, I have a new neck p/up arriving for this next week! It seems we have a "pod" of Dolphins in the "For Sale" section Pod is plural for dolphins isn't it? T
20. Correct, USA FMT deluxe, I owned one of these a while back, nice bass, I've also had a vic bailey 4 which is also a nice bass! Great neck, rosewood with pearl blocks is where it's at for me! Good luck with the sale Tony
21. I think I may own one of the so called "Daddies" a 5 string Dolphin! Stage 1's are nice, you just gotta try a few, some are better than others, a lot swear by the early ones, they are indeed a good vintage, but there are some gems amongst the later models with most being very good basses. Even with the bolt on of the species, you got to try a few, there is some variation around with the necks and it can make a big difference. I've owned a lot of Warwicks and enjoyed them all, I'm just going thru a J / MM phase now so they ain't floating my boat at the moment! T
22. Bump on the Dolphin New neck pick up fitted next week. Make me an offer! T
23. Sunny Sunday morning bump just before the wife drags me off to B&Q!
24. A lush, thrush moment for the Manchester boys Man from where? T
