12. They are £699 new at the bass centre!
13. I photograph a lot of metal bands, and yes, a lot play warwicks and they do sound good. Arecent metal gig I shot with 4 bands, saw two of the bands bassist' on Warwick. The headliners are endorsed by Warwick / Framus and the bassis was suing a 5 string stage 1 in black with a HUGE MOP inlay running down the neck (lots of $$) Warwicks marketting has changed over the years also, check out the old bassist mags for pics of Stuart Zender and the guy who played the 6 string Stremaer (forgot his name) The ads featured mainly funk players for a good while! Then it changed, a gradual transition over to metal and several metal endorsments! A good friend of mine used to run Warwick UK and we've had the conversation over this exact chnage in marketting! Warwick wanted to broaden there appeal, there's a lot of metal bands out there and some $$ to be made, so marketting will always be aimed at the most profitable target audience, that approack ain't justy restricted to Warwick! T
14. A couple of tubes of epoxy filler and a new finish, jobs a good un! T
15. Did my last gig with FTJ last night, should have been going to hammersmith on Monday, after show and the works, but can't make it. I'll get a few shots on line when I get time The dates I've done with the band have been an absolute pleasure, think about it, I'm 43, so grew up listening to this stuff, and many years later I get full show access to shoot the band (normal is 3 songs) whenever I want. Bruce knows my face and at some point, always acknowledges me, which is nice! last nights show was great, heavy crowd in Birmingham, a few more "crowd Surfers" than normal, also a bit quieter than previous gigs, but the band were on form. Bruce' sound and playing were spot on, P-bass with a plectrum through a Marshall stack, awesome sound! A new song in the set is going to be a single, more info when I know myself, I'll also find out what they are planning for next year when I can Tony
16. MM style 4 string bridge (not actual MM bridge) for sale £10 posted Pics later Fender leather strap £10 posted Tony
17. Up for sale is an M-Audio 1010LT, 10 in 10 out audio card Not boxed but with instruction manual and both breakout cables More info here http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Delta1010LT.html 2 1/2 year old Toshiba laptop, damaged screen, screen is just about attached, prone to blue screen death, sold as spares. HD, memory, DD writer etc are all there, has wirless, but will throw in wirless PCMIA card and an old Belkin router that needs a power supply. Got a few other PC componenets that I will throw in to get rid of, boxed, manuals - £60 posted? Athlon PC, specced as a DAW a few years back, asus board, athlon processor, would be good to be able to sell the mobo, processor and ram Tony
18. I anyone using a digital recorder such as the Roland VS2000, VS2400 or Tascam, Korg equivelants? My PC is getitng tired and requires a rebuild, was wanting to add a control surface like a Tascam 1024 replace my soundcard, but the ££ involved would probably be more than the cost of a stand alone digital recorder. The small screens have always put me off, but several of the Roland VS units now come with a VGA card, so they have started to have extra appeal! PC will live OK as it is for editing loops and running the odd synth, but for full multitrack recording, it's getting a bit past it! Cheers Tony
19. Bruces P bass sounds great, I get to hear it close up, can sometimes hear his Marshall backline where I am, he's vevry professional (the whole band are!) and rareley plays a note outside of the songs, but on the odd occasion he has, it sounds very powerful! Tony
20. The bass is now sold to the first person who pelied to me this morning Thanks for the interest Tony
21. PM's replied to this morning (all 8 of them) quote for shipping will be got this morning, then first full commitment at the asking price plus shipping gets it! Tony
22. So did anyone else get to any of the FTJ gigs? I did Liverpool and Sheffield, had to duck out of Leeds, will be in Birmingham at weekend, possibly London on Monday, but don't know if I can be arsed doing London so close to xmas. Got some good shots, I'll get a few online once I've cleared it with the band Some new material in the set this time round and I hear a new album is on the cards. The new stuff retains the style and sound that fans will appreciate. I have close contact with these guys, so I'll let you know whats happening as I find out Cheers Tony
