  1. A useful single channel line level isolating transformer for removing hum loops from PA, Mixer etc in a very solid metal case Input on either XLR or 6.3mm Jack - balanced or unbalanced Balanced output on XLR or 6.3mm Jack Switches for ground lift and phase reverse. The third switch provides either unity 1:1 or a 2:1 ratio tap for long cable runs There is a small circuit diagram on the top to remind you what all the connectors and switches do! Quoted frequency range is 20Hz to 25kHz at line level Dimensions 120 x 44 x 90 mm

  2. Pete bought a couple of Carol Kaye books from me. A nice easy transaction and I'd be happy to deal with Pete anytime again. Many thanks
  3. Doh! I hit return too soon, so here are some pictures. The first post is just manufacturer's blurb. Whoever wrote it obviously never played a bass. The value of this is that its completely linear - just plug in and play, no Eq or anything so that what you get is what's coming from your bass, no more, no less I've taken this on holiday before now to enable a bit of silent noodling on headphones whilst the rest of the family scream at each other... (good, closed back headphones are recommended)
  4. EMO E250 INSTRUMENT HEADPHONE AMPLIFIER This product is a robust instrument headphone practice amplifier, which can be clipped onto a belt and allows free movement of the user. Primarily aimed at Guitar technicians for use at side of stage. Powered via a 9v battery the unit will auto switch on/off when the input cable is plugged in.
  5. This box has a set of three Speakon connectors wired in parallel (using pins 1 & 2) so can be used as an extender for speaker cables, or to allow two cabs to be driven from the same amp One connector at one end and two at the other end The box is made from very solid extruded aluminium
  6. LA Audio high quality active DI box, very solid construction; comes with an instruction leaflet - which is worth reading since the box is deceptively versatile! This works off an 18v rail so can cope with high or low level signals. Power via phantom from your mixer or 2 x 9v batteries Usefully it has a +20db switch to increase the level of low output devices and with 1M ohm input impedance is compatible with piezo pickups The Input will work with Instrument or Speaker levels ('Pad' switch is for speaker level), isolated XLR output for your mixer and a 'link' output to take the signal on to an amp or cab A separate unbalanced output is available as well as the balanced XLR
  7. Excellent solid and versatile active DI box from Canford Audio, only selling since I have three of these It comes with the instruction leaflet Inputs for Instrument or Amp output. Output jack for Amp input or speaker cab alongside. Balanced XLR output to mixer on the reverse. Instrument input 1.8M ohm impedance - so no loading of amp input or pickups Phantom powered off the mixer XLR or by 9v battery

  8. This is a very tough, but relatively lightweight (7kg) 4U rack case. Very solidly built, with two butterfly catches to hold each end piece in place and moulded, recessed handles There is a shallow version, but this is the deeper one with 46cm between the front and back rack strips (just over 50cm front rack strip to back of case) Overall external size is 55cm wide x 23cm high x 61cm deep Rack screws included Pickup from Uxbridge area, or I'll courier 48hr for £13
  9. I bought this very well upholstered Gator gig bag (current retail £135) for my Guild Starfire bass, but although it fits, its a bit tighter lengthwise than seems sensible, so this has barely been used. It is fairly obviously sized for a Gibson 335 guitar, but will also fit a flying V or a short-scale bass that's a fraction smaller than a Starfire Loads of padding, loads of pockets and a waterproof cover (in pocket 6 on the back, I think - depends how you count the pockets) The padding at the base of the bag can be removed (its on velcro) to give a couple of cm extra space - the quoted overall internal length is without this extra padding fitted Pickup preferred, but I will post it, although I haven't worked out what that would cost, let me know if you're interested and I'll get a price. Internal size: Overall Length: 46.1" (117.09 cm) Body Length: 25.0" (63.5 cm) Body Height: 3.5" (8.89 cm) Lower Bout Width: 17.3" (43.94 cm) Middle Bout Width: 15.4" (39.12 cm) Upper Bout Width: 13.0" (33.02 cm) Exterior Dimensions: Length: 47.8" (121.41 cm) Width: 18.3" (46.48 cm) Height: 6.9" (17.53 cm)

  10. Anyone need a PA amp? Usual excellent Crown quality, this amp has only had light use and comes in a Chord carry bag. Not sure what the total weight is, but the amp on its own is under 4kg, so very portable XLR inputs, Speakon outputs for most users, plus various other options as per photos As well as standard Stereo, the amp can be configured as follows: Crossover Mode (CH1=LPF, CH2=HPF) – this mode enables a LowPass Filter on Channel 1 and a HighPass Filter on Channel 2 at the frequency chosen. LowPass Mode (CH1=LPF, CH2=LPF) – this mode enables a LowPass Filter on both Channel 1 and Channel 1 at the frequency chosen. HighPass Mode (CH1=HPF, CH2=HPF) – this mode enables a HighPass Filter on both Channel 1 and Channel 2 at the frequency chosen. You can also put it into 'Bridge' mode for seriously high levels of output (according to the spec 1.5kW into 4ohm) Pickup from Uxbridge area, or I'll courier to you at cost.

  11. This Fender Rumble has only had light use in our local church as a bass monitor, so in excellent condition. Comes with a Roqsolid cover and mains lead. The v3 Rumbles are surprisingly lightweight (the 100 a fraction under 10kg) but also versatile in terms of sound with three Eq presets as well as four way tone control and an overdrive circuit DI output on the rear, together with Fx loop in and out, Aux input, Headphone output, Footswitch for overdrive... 100W (RMS) with a punchy 12" speaker makes it a very portable combo for small gigs or for use as a stage monitor Ideally pickup from Uxbridge, but DM if you want to discuss a handover somewhere...

  12. I just sold an instrument stand to Chris. A good guy to deal with and absolutely on the level - no problems at all.
  13. Fifteen page booklet with bass lines in various tempos and genres eg Straight Time patterns, Latin Rock, Reggay (sic) patterns, Fills, 5/4 and 6/4 studies...
  14. Like it says on the box... Five DVD's taking you through basslines for 20 Worship Bass songs Cost includes postage
  15. I just sold a DI box to Graeme. As everyone else has said, a very easy guy to deal with, and one who makes Basschat a better place to visit.
  16. Clearing out 'stuff' I found this, which is a good quality collapsible K&M stand, but I trimmed the cross-piece to suit the width of a Hohner B2A bass, so when open it is only 14cm across the two legs If you have one of those, or a similarly small bass or guitar, then this is for you!
  17. A bit of theory plus over 100 pages of bass lines in different styles with tabs as well as standard notation. Excellent condition
  18. 'The life and music of the legendary Bassist James Jamerson' - in case you didn't know Lots of info, lots of tracks. Audio is accessed via online code on the first page of the book - which should still work!
  19. Both in very good condition, free to a good home!
  20. I got hit by this new eBay diktat too, but as acidbass says, there are ways around, the trouble is you have to remember to implement them when you’re doing the listing, rather than when the sale is made. Yet more mind-numbing admin, just so eBay can improve their margins…
  21. High quality transformer balanced passive DI box from EMO Inputs for Instrument, Line or Loudspeaker and balanced, isolated output to mixer Instrument input has a parallel output to go to your amp Loudspeaker input has a parallel output for the speaker cabinet

  22. Not sure if any of this helps… If I’ve understood this right, you’ve got a 4 ohm cab and an 8 ohm cab running off the two speaker sockets on the back of the amp. Theory says that the load on the amp is nominally 2.7 ohms*. According to the amp spec it will, if pushed, knock out 1200 watts rms into that load. Because the speakers have different ratings and impedance the 4 ohm (115) cab will get twice the power - which could be 800w. The 112 cab could be getting 400w So, in theory you could be overloading the cabs if you’re playing with a lot of ‘attack’ - the instantaneous power being greater than rms. Practically speaking, it’s possible that some part of the speaker/amp chain was overheating when indoors - there could be up to 20A running through the speakers If you can, it might be worth trying out two cabs with 8ohm impedance and similar power handling? Or two 4ohm cabs wired in series? Or a high pass filter? *nominal because in practice the impedance is complex and varies with frequency
  23. Ok, its for one of those six-string things that play an octave too high, but someone might want one... Postage £3.50
