I was more worried that I'd start blasting out the audio from 'Love Island'... 🤔

The UHF band is pretty full (DTT TV, amateur radio, radio mic systems) and I can’t find which band of channels the Lekato uses. Therefore I’m slightly wary. Good to know that in a year’s use you haven’t had any problems. If I can find the exact frequencies I’ll post them.

Lekato WS-70 I know that its UHF, which can be problematic for interference, but the small size and ease of operation swung it for me.

Just squeezed a wireless system into 2024 (December 29th). That was close.

I'm in (although I didn't last long last year 😞) 2025 is definitely a year to sell rather than buy and NOT be tempted by 'bargains' that aren't actually going to help the business of playing

Zoom L20 Mixer and multi-channel recorder with Roqsolid dust cover and zoom custom carry case. The remote option is a 'usb bug' that gives bluetooth connectivity to your tablet/iPad/whatever From Zoom: The L-20 Mixer features 16 mono mic/line inputs and two stereo inputs, all with independent 3-band mid-parametric EQ. The 16 mono inputs offer stand-alone compressor control. Record 20 discrete channels plus a stereo mix directly to an SD card. The LiveTrak L-20 captures pristine audio in resolutions up to 24-bit/96 kHz. At -128 dBu EIN with +60 dB maximum input gain, the L-20 is equipped with our quietest and most advanced preamps ever. Mix down finished songs on the L-20 or transfer your discrete tracks to a DAW to perfect later. With six independent monitor outputs for musicians, each output can have its own custom mix, complete with effects, that can easily be switched from a powerful headphone output, to a balanced line output for stage monitors. All in mint condition. Pickup from Uxbridge area, or message me to sort out a handover. I have the original boxes so I can post at cost if needed.

Confused on amp heads and cabinets compatibility
Suburban Man replied to Bef's topic in General Discussion
Looking at the spec of the Fender it is an 8 ohm cabinet rated at 300Watts continuous output, so fine to plug into the Trace Elliott head. However you might find that you don't get a huge amount of power, since the AH100 appears to give its full output into 4 ohms, so you may only get half the rated power out of it when plugged into an 8 ohm cab (I couldn't find a definitive spec for the AH100 but if I'm right that would be 50Watts RMS) like Bassbiscuits says: Amps will say something on the back about how many watts they put out at how many ohms. Something like 300w/8ohms or 500/4ohms for example. Similarly the cabinet should say whether it’s 8ohms or 4ohms. Only problem nowadays is that so many manufacturers quote 'peak' or 'instantaneous' power that the RMS output - which is the useful figure for both amps and speakers - seems to get left out of the marketing blurb -

I bought a rack case from Lee and it is in excellent condition. It was well packaged and arrived exactly when expected. He’s a very easy guy to deal with and I can recommend him as a seller.

I’d be interested to know how much ripple is created in the passband by a filter with 36dB per octave slope? Does that original design give you a graph of the frequency response?

Have you ever paid to play a gig?
Suburban Man replied to hiram.k.hackenbacker's topic in General Discussion
As I recall the sound was even more difficult than most venues because there was a wall facing the stage from about 20 feet away. The route in and out for equipment felt like 400 yards of narrow passages up and down the building, which wasn’t a lot of fun either. -
Having accidentally (honestly!) sold a combo recently with a non-functioning tweeter I didn't have any problem about buying a replacement for the buyer. Like you say, its about sorting it and everyone ending up happy with the outcome.

Technically speaking there’s no reason why you can’t design a switched mode power supply to power anything, including a valve amp. The obvious reason switch mode has become popular is that despite being inherently more complex (and expensive) than a linear psu, it’s far less heavy. So, apart from sheer cussedness, why would you put a lightweight expensive power supply in a big heavy valve amp? I can imagine that in a practical design shielding might also be a problematic.

I'm having a bit of a clear out and discovered that the wonderful people at Haynes found that they could write for over 170 pages about Fender Stratocasters. As usual its a very informative little read and contains a lot of detailed information. Since I know some of you dabble in the treble clef, you might find it useful. When I originally bought it the price was £17.99

Sold my mixer and mixer carry bag to Pat. Lovely easy transaction with quick payment and enough communication to keep everything moving along nicely. Sell with confidence to this man. 👍

One Thundertron neck pickup, boxed, as new. "I bought it for a project", but on second thoughts decided that I would more likely ruin a good bass than improve it. I think that these are about £140 (including postage) direct from the States Manufacturers info is here: https://tvjones.com/thundertron-neck-universal-mount/#product-tab-addition-149

Well, you can do it either way round, what's important is that when ring and sleeve are connected by a jack plug, battery negative and ground are joined together.

Simon moved his Ibanez EHB1000 on to me today - lovely bass, very well looked after and he is a top man to deal with.

RSbassman just bought my Markbass 602 and I can recommend him to anyone doing a deal on Basschat. No messing around: sensible offer, quick pickup. A good man to deal with.
