  1. Looking at the spec of the Fender it is an 8 ohm cabinet rated at 300Watts continuous output, so fine to plug into the Trace Elliott head. However you might find that you don't get a huge amount of power, since the AH100 appears to give its full output into 4 ohms, so you may only get half the rated power out of it when plugged into an 8 ohm cab (I couldn't find a definitive spec for the AH100 but if I'm right that would be 50Watts RMS) like Bassbiscuits says: Amps will say something on the back about how many watts they put out at how many ohms. Something like 300w/8ohms or 500/4ohms for example. Similarly the cabinet should say whether it’s 8ohms or 4ohms. Only problem nowadays is that so many manufacturers quote 'peak' or 'instantaneous' power that the RMS output - which is the useful figure for both amps and speakers - seems to get left out of the marketing blurb
  2. Fully working SansAmp RPM, Excellent preamp, but not getting used enough by myself. Let me know if you want a mains cable included.

  3. I bought a rack case from Lee and it is in excellent condition. It was well packaged and arrived exactly when expected. He’s a very easy guy to deal with and I can recommend him as a seller.
  4. I’d be interested to know how much ripple is created in the passband by a filter with 36dB per octave slope? Does that original design give you a graph of the frequency response?
  5. Certainly Sir. It will be delivered in a plain brown cover... 😁 I'll message you the payment details.
  6. As I recall the sound was even more difficult than most venues because there was a wall facing the stage from about 20 feet away. The route in and out for equipment felt like 400 yards of narrow passages up and down the building, which wasn’t a lot of fun either.
  7. Having accidentally (honestly!) sold a combo recently with a non-functioning tweeter I didn't have any problem about buying a replacement for the buyer. Like you say, its about sorting it and everyone ending up happy with the outcome.
  8. Will do. On the road at the moment and can’t seem to do that from my phone.
  9. Empress Bass Compressor in Blue Sparkle. Excellent condition, home studio use only, boxed, no velcro. Very versatile and simple to use. Price includes postage
  10. Technically speaking there’s no reason why you can’t design a switched mode power supply to power anything, including a valve amp. The obvious reason switch mode has become popular is that despite being inherently more complex (and expensive) than a linear psu, it’s far less heavy. So, apart from sheer cussedness, why would you put a lightweight expensive power supply in a big heavy valve amp? I can imagine that in a practical design shielding might also be a problematic.
  11. I'm having a bit of a clear out and discovered that the wonderful people at Haynes found that they could write for over 170 pages about Fender Stratocasters. As usual its a very informative little read and contains a lot of detailed information. Since I know some of you dabble in the treble clef, you might find it useful. When I originally bought it the price was £17.99
  12. Hi, I've just measured it and the spacing between the pole pieces is 16mm
  13. Sold my mixer and mixer carry bag to Pat. Lovely easy transaction with quick payment and enough communication to keep everything moving along nicely. Sell with confidence to this man. 👍
  14. One Thundertron neck pickup, boxed, as new. "I bought it for a project", but on second thoughts decided that I would more likely ruin a good bass than improve it. I think that these are about £140 (including postage) direct from the States Manufacturers info is here: https://tvjones.com/thundertron-neck-universal-mount/#product-tab-addition-149
  15. Well, you can do it either way round, what's important is that when ring and sleeve are connected by a jack plug, battery negative and ground are joined together.
  16. Simon moved his Ibanez EHB1000 on to me today - lovely bass, very well looked after and he is a top man to deal with.
  17. RSbassman just bought my Markbass 602 and I can recommend him to anyone doing a deal on Basschat. No messing around: sensible offer, quick pickup. A good man to deal with.
  18. This chunky little 2 x 6" combo has been used as my practice amp and because it has a nice tone and plenty of power I thought that it might get used elsewhere, so I bought it a Roqsolid cover. Needless to say neither have ever been taken out of the studio, so the cover is in 'as new' condition. The combo itself is in pretty good condition with very few external marks to the cabinet. Please see the photos for several small marks on the metalwork. Apart from the Volume control, tone controls are Markbass' own design VLE and VPF (basically mid scoop and top cut) Inputs for instrument and an aux for playing along to tracks through the amp. It has the usual DI output and a socket for an external speaker. Headphone output on a mini jack if you need to run it in 'silent mode'. It all still works perfectly and delivers a surprisingly useful output if you wind it up. At 9.8kg in its cover its a breeze to transport. Obviously I'd prefer pickup from Uxbridge area, but I can post for £15 if necessary. Message me if you need any other info. I see that the last time someone tried to sell one of these they had second thoughts and withdrew it! Cat shown to indicate size of combo

  19. Trace Elliott Elf for sale. 200W into a 4 ohm speaker. 3 way tone controls. DI out on the back Excellent condition, fully working, with mains lead and short Jack to Speakon cable I've carried it around in a Gator bag that was originally designed for a radio mic, so there is unused space inside. It would probably take a vocal mic and an instrument wireless system. Only selling as (usual story) I've just bought a TC Amp and I now need to move this one on
  20. Would you consider connecting the Chorus pedal using the go and return of the Markbass effects loop? That moves the (possible) source of the hiss downstream where the signal is higher and the hiss/noise should be less.
  21. As above, the tip wire stays where it is. The battery negative goes to sleeve (usually) and ground to ring. When you plug in a jack, sleeve is joined to ring and the battery is in circuit.
  22. I'd second the idea of a Yamaha. There appear to be lots on ebay. One thing I found was that it was easier to play a guitar with a 1 3/4" nut rather than 1 11/16 - particularly going from bass to guitar and back again. It doesn't seem much, but just allows that bit of extra space for the fingers at the nut end of the fretboard. I tried one but found the lack of fret markers on the Faith a bit of a pain - no problem if all you do is play guitar I suppose...
  23. Hi, if this is still available I'd like to buy it. thanks Nick
  24. One Swan 3U flightcase only used a few times and still in almost perfect condition. Usual bomb-proof construction in aluminium and ply with rack ears for standard M6 rack screws Internal depth between the two sets of rack ears is 40cm Approximate total size of the case is 50cms deep x 51cms wide x 20cms high There are about 3cms depth inside each lid to allow for switches, knobs and buttons on any installed equipment. Postage at cost, or come and pick it up. It weighs 7.8 kg so I'm anticipating it might cost £12-15 to courier.
