1. Just go out and try them yourself, ive got the T-Bird (love it) and until recently had a Ric but everyones comments differ so much plus some are just plain wrong you'd be better off making up your own mind
2. I currently play a Gibson Thunderbird in a classic rock covers band and it sound superb. I have tried using my Fender P-Bass and it does not even come close to getting a punchy gritty growl .... when you try one you will be surprised how light they are too, neck not too chunky and the neck dive or lack of really is not and issue .... I also had a Ric for a couple of years, not as comfortable and wide neck might be an issue for some, harder work to get a great sound but one you have it dialed they are spot on. Used T-Birds are reasonable cheap-ish too, Ric's not so ! ....................... Unleash your inner rock god with a 'Bird :-)
3. I own a Electra VS4 and have no fit or finish issues at all and I have been over the whole bass very carefully ! The neck pocket is as tight as a chuffing tight thing (that's tight!) all the parts do what they should AND most importantly it plays very very nicely with a jazz like neck and sounds punchy and clear with the active electrics sounding natural and not clinical like some do. I suggest you try before you buy and make your own mind up, after all manufacturers have the odd off day especially the 'big 'F' boys' ! Excellent value for money when compared to any MIM bass .... and I've tried them all !
4. Proel 2U Rack Bag used but in very good condition £25.00 + delivery will be £10.00 or free collection from Corby Northants ..... surplus to requirement, Paypal GIFT accepted
5. I've been using the slightly older NeoX212t for two or three years now and love it and I paid £450 used for mine !!!! What I'm looking forward too is when these cabs all flood into the used market place and you kind people let them go for shall we say .... errrrrr £200 yeah that will do : )
6. I totally agree about the lack of colours, even if they offered a Black I think that would make all the difference ! (I know I would have had a black one with either tort or black scratchplate) Understand the lack of maple neck option, they are trying to keep costs down and guess that wouldn't help
7. No love for the Electra range at all ?!!!!
8. FYI - The Electra VS4 weighs 8lbs, not too bad feels really comfortable ... in comparison my USA Fender Precision weighs 9lbs
9. The 'new' Electra range has been more readily available for a while now, who has tried one or taken the jump and actually bought one ? I've had my VS4 for about 2 months now and loving everything about it ! Finish, fit, feel are superb and the tone is spot on clear, punchy and not too clinical either Just wondering what everyone else thought who had tried or actually bought one? .............. If you've not tried one then just do it !
10. I'd suggest the 1x15, I used to use that very same set up with a Mark Bass head, sounded superb I only changed cos i wanted a 1 cab solution
11. The Johnny Ramone of basses !
12. Well I have the VS4 (P-Bass version) and I have to say it knocks the bits off a lot of other basses of similar price Yes the parts are sourced from the far east to Sandbergs spec, but they are very VERY good indeed The parts are shipped back to Germany where the necks are Plek's and then assembled by some of the same guys who put together the high end basses. The fit and finish is superb, the neck pocket is as tight as i've seen, frets and edges are smooth and it sounds spot on. with the option to run it active or passive, with the bass and treble set flat there is virtually no difference which is also great. Gigged it a few times now and it stays in tune and sound very punchy and tight .... just waiting for the new strings to die off a bit. Guitar Guitar and PMT as well as other are all starting to stock these and the VS4 (P) is about £499 and the TT4 (J) £569 ish well worth a try, but even if you bought blind YOU WOULD NOT BE DISSAPOINTED ! Have a look at my review of the VS4 over here ..... 13. My Sandberg Electra VS4 is 38mm at the nut
14. Back to the top for BARGAIN of the week ! Superb basses .... why is it still here !!!!
15. Looks like Guitar Guitar have just taken delivery of the Electra range ! Decent prices too the VS4 at £499 and the TT4 at £569 Well worth a look in if you pondering on a P or J bass
16. Fantastic amp... i bought Cetera's 300... absolutely stunning.. nothing gets near it!!!
17. The hardwear is sourced from the far east and so far seems good the tuners stay in tune during gigging conditions and bridge is easily adjusted once you understand the locking screws The nut measures 38mm and feels jazz like and is not chunky Used it tonight 'live' for the first time and have another festival tomorrow so will give my views and review then
18. Will measure it when I get home ......
19. Big band got the buck ! worth every penny
20. I like 'em !
21. Hardwear seems very good, lets see how it stands gigging and time. Not sure its actual Sandberg hardwear off the high end basses more like designed by but seems ok The electrics are the same, but again seem good, will come back after two gigs at the weekend Can't think of a downside yet .....
22. Really pleased with it and at this sort of price range you cant go wrong, feels and sounds like a lot of bass for the money Well worth a try if you can find one in stock Will come back with more info once I have used it in anger on Saturday and Sunday ...
