  1. I had the 'first edition' of the Highway One Jazz, excellent in every way (although I just don't get on with Jazzes), £450 is the top end of what I would pay though nearer £400 would be nearer the mark that I would pay though.
  2. Yep saw that bargain of the week ! Although I must try before I buy
  3. I have an insatiable itch for a Gibson SG Bass ! why I do not know, I play Fender P and Thunderbird bass maybe its the thought of wearing shorts? Anyhoo if anyone wants to talk me into or talk me out of it then lets 'ave it ! Good, bad or ugly that is the question ?
  4. Active all the way ! we use DB Opera 2 x Tops and 2 x Subs but was also have 2 more identical tops that we use as floor monitors, this is our insurance policy if a top fails then a monitor replaces it, if a Sub fails then we still have one, if both subs fail we still have tops so still OK it .... we would have to be very VERY unlucky to have enough speakers fail to stop us (fingers crossed) this setup is driven quite hard about 50 gigs a year for 3 years so far without problems - FYI we use 4 x DB Opera Live 405's and 2 x Sub 15D's thru a Yamaha MG16/6FX desk ...... works a treat !
  5. Hi can I take these please PM me your paypal deets please
  6. Thats deffo a pussy puller, proof in the picture !
  7. Not opened up my cab and agreed the handles are in a silly position, how about a strap style handle or an Ampeg style 'towel rail' style handle as each wouldn't require invasive surgery to attach?

  10. I'm sick to the stomach that I cant afford this Xmas bargain and its only down the road too in Boxeddy stomping ground too ..... Festive good luck bump for ya !
  11. Love Kings-X and nice to hear an 8 string played on a normal song without the widdling and the 'ooh I sound like a sitar' rubbish .... now if that doesn't make you MUST have an 8 string nowt will !
  12. You can get a Dean quite easily for reasonable money, I have played the Rhapsody in 8 and 12 string and loved both to play. I used to play a Shergold Marathon 8 string and it sounded amazing .... GET AN 8 OR 12 STRING ... JUST DO IT
  13. Just go out and try them yourself, ive got the T-Bird (love it) and until recently had a Ric but everyones comments differ so much plus some are just plain wrong you'd be better off making up your own mind
  14. I currently play a Gibson Thunderbird in a classic rock covers band and it sound superb. I have tried using my Fender P-Bass and it does not even come close to getting a punchy gritty growl .... when you try one you will be surprised how light they are too, neck not too chunky and the neck dive or lack of really is not and issue .... I also had a Ric for a couple of years, not as comfortable and wide neck might be an issue for some, harder work to get a great sound but one you have it dialed they are spot on. Used T-Birds are reasonable cheap-ish too, Ric's not so ! ....................... Unleash your inner rock god with a 'Bird :-)
  15. I own a Electra VS4 and have no fit or finish issues at all and I have been over the whole bass very carefully ! The neck pocket is as tight as a chuffing tight thing (that's tight!) all the parts do what they should AND most importantly it plays very very nicely with a jazz like neck and sounds punchy and clear with the active electrics sounding natural and not clinical like some do. I suggest you try before you buy and make your own mind up, after all manufacturers have the odd off day especially the 'big 'F' boys' ! Excellent value for money when compared to any MIM bass .... and I've tried them all !
  16. Proel 2U Rack Bag [attachment=148468:Proel 2U.jpg] used but in very good condition £25.00 + delivery will be £10.00 or free collection from Corby Northants ..... surplus to requirement, Paypal GIFT accepted
  17. I've been using the slightly older NeoX212t for two or three years now and love it and I paid £450 used for mine !!!! What I'm looking forward too is when these cabs all flood into the used market place and you kind people let them go for shall we say .... errrrrr £200 yeah that will do : )
  18. I totally agree about the lack of colours, even if they offered a Black I think that would make all the difference ! (I know I would have had a black one with either tort or black scratchplate) Understand the lack of maple neck option, they are trying to keep costs down and guess that wouldn't help
  19. No love for the Electra range at all ?!!!!
  20. FYI - The Electra VS4 weighs 8lbs, not too bad feels really comfortable ... in comparison my USA Fender Precision weighs 9lbs
  21. The 'new' Electra range has been more readily available for a while now, who has tried one or taken the jump and actually bought one ? I've had my VS4 for about 2 months now and loving everything about it ! Finish, fit, feel are superb and the tone is spot on clear, punchy and not too clinical either Just wondering what everyone else thought who had tried or actually bought one? .............. If you've not tried one then just do it !
