  1. Good luck finding one (or even it) ๐Ÿ‘
  2. I had an FL Thinline, it was a lovely thing ๐Ÿ‘
  3. Use of such language might have scared potential buyers perhapsโ€ฆ. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  4. Precision: check 62RI: check Fender: check MIJ: check Lightweight: check Dimarzios: check CREME Dimarzios: check Iconic looks: check Under ยฃ800: check Ultra-reliable seller: check I have no idea what has happened to Basschat ๐Ÿค”
  5. Thanks Steve, could you offer it as an option as do Warmoth with their 'standard 4-bolt' screwholes on Precision necks?
  6. I'd be interested in an unlined fretless Precision neck also. What's the likely timescale and, minor as it sounds, will the heel be pre-drilled to accept neck screws (if not it would mean sending to a luthier to do which is something I'd need to factor in).
  7. I do my best mate ๐Ÿ‘
  8. Saw this and thought of you Dan ๐Ÿ™‚ https://ebay.us/m/udAHJX Not original, might not be kosher, but looks nice ๐Ÿ‘Œ
  9. Graceland is on my album gig list, the problem at present is that our singer/guitarist isn't a fan. I'm working on it ๐Ÿ‘
  10. I was making the point that you most certainly can slap flats ๐Ÿ‘
  11. ....or Bakithi Kumalo ๐Ÿ‘
  12. If it were 6-months back I'd have been the owner of three fretless basses and no fretted, but the band I'm in now requires a certain amount of the latter, while I tend to think that if you can play it on fretted you can probably play it on a fretless, there are certain bass tones that you'll only get with frets in the mix. I much prefer to play fretless though ๐Ÿ‘
  13. Well so far, of 100 respondents, 74% own fretless basses, which allowing for bias (I'd guess you're more likely to be drawn to the thread if you play fretless) surprises me ๐Ÿ‘
  14. Yep I get where you're coming from ๐Ÿ‘
  15. You canโ€™t slap flats ๐Ÿค”
  16. Sound On Sound review, which was why I chose this unit among all those I could have chosen, here https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/soundcraft-ui24r
  17. That's exactly what I was thinking, albeit I hadn't quite got to the point at which the attachment and truss rod were essentially one and the same. Headless graphite necks could be bought in a limited number of sizes - specifically heel dimensions and nut width - with the headstock shape being an option at point of sale?
  18. Could go down in history as one of the great insults ๐Ÿคฃ
  19. That's good to hear, I understood that supply of the rechargeable battery was the core of the problem, glad John's found a solution. A very elegant piece of design and engineering ๐Ÿ‘
  20. Thanks guys, I agree re both. I bought this when I was playing upright in a 3-piece band which had a very specific challenge with live sound and especially vocal monitoring (some songs required 3-part harmonies supported by upright bass, slide guitar, and banjo. I'll give you a few minutes to calculate the chances of the whole thing being in tune with anything but 100% monitoring fidelity......) Anyway, I loved the guys and and the music, but ultimately it was a real niche band (think Wood Brothers gigging the pubs of Kent), and we sacked it shortly after I bought this unit. My current band is one of these rare beasts that plugs into a mixer, plays, and barring a few tweaks, sounds good, so replacing the simplicity of the current Peavey desk that works really with the (relative) complexity of this unit seems unnecessary. A sound guy who I was talking to at our last gig however said he'd love to get his hands on one of these because it makes his job infinitely easier. Guess it's horses for courses ๐Ÿ‘
  21. Good thinking, I'll edit accordingly ๐Ÿ‘
