  1. Hi Luke, having played around a little more yesterday I think the M-Pulse will enable me to do all I need 1) Switch between standard gig EQ and a heavy dub EQ (switch in the para EQ) 2) Compress the dub EQ (switch in the compressor) 3) Increase the volume of the dub eq (switch in the solo channel) But I'd like to be able to replicate those functions using the simplest pedal possible just in case I use a different amp for any reason
  2. Delete them from your profile under ‘My Attachments’ 👍
  3. ….and for sale, glorious beast, engineering meets art meets function, but not really me, deep down I’m just a Precision kinda guy (although I’d love a Precision with a Status neck for sure) 👍
  4. Thanks Bill, Mesa 2x15 better still I assume?
  5. Nice playing. Yes a rubber piece will help. Try perhaps being more in touch with the bass to provide greater stability, it might be the camera angle but it looks quite far from you?
  6. Mmmmm…. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/196967398730?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=2pMDnoK2QiW&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=155UlNbXQGW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  7. Thank you mate, must admit the 2x15 thing was also calling my name…..
  8. Re adaptable, absolutely, it’s like a Modulus Flea on steroids. And I bloody love that headstock, there’s something a bit Grim Reaper about it 👍
  9. Upcoming project us going to require some deep, room filling, bass. Room is medium, perhaps 150 people. I will be backline only. Plan is my Mesa M-Pulse into Mesa 1516. But…. There’s a pretty cheap SWR Big Ben 1x18 going and the part of my brain that remembers multi-18” sound systems at Notting Hill in the 80’s keeps nagging me. Thoughts/experience/suggestions/wisdom welcome
  10. Welcome @Dune, nice basses 👍
  11. Bought it, love it, but not really a 'me' bass. I'd love a BC member who's passionate about either Entwistle, The Who, or Status to have this bass, but if not it'll go to a shop on consignment sale (at the £2,500 Basschat price I'm taking a bit of a hit on what it owes me). I'm happy to talk trades/PX but would certainly prefer cash. If the former, I'm looking for a biggie by Mesa; 400, Prodigy/Strategy, Titan etc, but could have arm twisted by other aesthetically pleasing music/audio gear, you know how I roll I won't waste your time with a lengthy description, anyone interested in buying this knows the score. I'd welcome tryouts chez Beedster, and am happy to post worldwide. I'll take some detailed photos over the next couple of days. There's still a minor issue with the switchable mid pot to be resolved but apparently it's an easy fix and I will get that done There's a thread about it that veers off into Cold War bombers Basschat style. As I mentioned, the circuit issues are largely resolved now
  12. As you've probably realised mate, it's like the old 'gentlemen prefer blondes but marry brunettes' thing, I love vintage Fenders, but always end up letting them go to be replaced by some mongrel I've pulled together from spare parts
  13. So how about a few of use get together and organise something, we have a lot of regional events, how about a national one? I'll help in any way I can and will donate a couple of Fenderish bitsas to auction to help cover costs?
  14. Is it available to watch for those of us who missed it Mike?
  15. Pretty much every Mesa amp also 👍
  16. Well, they certainly didn't on mine. I took it to a tech - a member here - to look at and we decided in cutting and installing a new nut to keep the G string on the board and to get it closer to the pole pieces, which is far from ideal on a bass at that price point. OK, this was a fair while back (2010ish) and I imagine they got on top of it, but I remember at the time there were a few people here and on TB said they'd had similar issues. But yes, they are otherwise beautifully designed and engineered instruments, it always seemed very odd that despite the evident quality in 99% of the instrument, that more than a few of them had this issue.
  17. John, what would we do without you mate 🙏 I kinda had had that gut instinct, but was wanting to sense check it. Yes the Satellites were better to look at than they were to play or listen to, but I hoped there was a chance this was a step up! I think the J-PUP fooled me 😆 Many thanks mate 🙏
