  1. Only person who could sit in that seat is Dave Grohl
  2. A great instrument worth twice as much as the asking price. There are some very nice EUBs out there, and i've owned a lot of them, but in terms of feeling like a real DB to the player nothing comes close to the SLB-100, and nothing comes close in terms of engineering/build quality, the board especially is perfection. I sold mine about 10 years ago at a point in time at which I wanted something different (I bought the SLB-200) but soon missed it, and was very relieved when I was able to buy it back. I think if I could only own one instrument it would be this, it's an absolute joy to play, the headphone option is extremely useful (as is the ability to mix that signal and recorded music through the same headphone O/P). They don't come up for sale often because people who have them tend to want to keep them, and if you want to buy one new you're looking at close to £5,000. Good luck with the sale 👍
  3. Strangely enough, having assumed Kent Armstrong were US-based I dropped them a message and Aaron got back to me within hours from………… Kent!! So I’m popping in to get it done next week 👍
  4. Don't ask how things got so bad 🤔 Any advice on how to wire this would be gratefully received. Think it's a Kent Armstrong, six solder points, four core cable (black seems to be wired to shielding). Shielding in cable is just about hanging on to one of the solder points. Would love to get this working ASAP as have some potentially noisy gigs coming up Cheers Chris
  5. Amazing what you find in your studio when you start clearing things out! Bought this for my Roland kit about 5 years back and used it a total of twice! Details here https://www.thomann.de/gb/gewa_sps_e_drum_gigbag.htm?glp=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6Nnt9a2B9gIVCbLtCh2RKwWUEAQYAiABEgLrAPD_BwE Can probably post for around £20, or collection welcome Looks like this, only a bit older
  6. The most ludicrously heavy unit I've ever lifted, makes the average 80's Peavey combo feel decidedly lightweight. However, makes an electronic kit (or I'd assume with some decent micing a real kit) sound damn fine. Certainly a great tool for rehearsal and for monitoring on stage, and for smaller gigs quite giggable on its own. I've even used it for bass practice on occasion. Discontinued on account of too many broken delivery trucks, now's your a chance to own a piece of electronic drum amplification history Details here https://www.roland.com/uk/products/pm-3/ This is what it would have looked like new, mine looks like it's been used. I'll add some pics once I've managed to haul it into the house from the studio, which might take a while Chris PS this is collection only I'm afraid
  7. Innovation Honeys only strings remaining, offers?
  8. So just to get this right, for almost as long as I've been a member of this forum, sale of one of my favourite BGs has been banned, yet the same week I finally sell my final BG they're now legal again? Damn, I tried to secure Rics discretely on here many times over the years by suggesting that in PX for (insert name of bass here) I would take a bass played by Macca (offered Hofners), Geddy (offered Jazzes), and of course most famously by the guy out of this lot.... My fretless Ric still stands as one of the best basses I've owned, just has something unique, and through an SVT was about as large a sound as I think I've ever produced on stage. First time we did Whole Lotta Love with that combination all four members of the band looked at me with a huge smile on their face, as did all four members of the audience. My desert island bass is a fretless Ric, if another one comes up here now, I'll be sad
  9. Studio/house-move clear-out continues! Powerful and toneful little combo, weighs a ton but bloody nice looking. Ashdown did a great piece of customer service in repairing/retubing this for free a few back only for the courier delivering it back to me to drop it and subsequently claim that the damage was done by the sender, which seemed kinda unlikely. So it's got a bit of cosmetic damage which is NOT shown in the photos below, I will get new ones ASAO, but not that these are minor, i.e., the box/tolex is not damaged. It will therefore need a little TLC to get the best out of it and I suspect a re-tube at some time quite soon. We used it in the band for a couple of rehearsals gigs and despite the drop it was fine. Please don't buy this if you need pristine boutique amp, but if you can do a little fettling it will do you proud. Cheers. Chris
  10. Yesterday I was nostalgically going back through my Basschat attachments (which is of course a word that works in both senses here), and man there are some nice looking bitsas in there! In total I believe there are about 30 BCers out there with a bitsa that originated in my shed. Makes me smile that once sold they rarely come up for sale again, which I take to mean that they are generally keepers (an alternative theory would be that they end up in skips of course)
  11. I've always thought that you and I share similar brain circuitry Owen
  12. Heretic, i use fine oils from Tibet. When I received it I was a little disappointed that it was bottomless, but realised pretty quickly that the overall weight had there been a base would likely have crushed most worktops. This is not a lightweight unit
  13. Hey folks, I think this sold earlier today, just waiting on confirmation 👍
  14. Hey mate, yes it's a pretty nice instrument, lots of extremely positive reviews online. Re the neck, it suited me as a bassist more than a lot of guitars for sure, and yes, the preamp is rather good (although it's Godin so you'd expect that). I've owned more expensive guitars than didn't play as well or sound as good as this also (mention no names but rhymes with Mibson). I'm selling this to raise some funds for the house move, but have to admit that I won't be too upset if it doesn't sell
  15. In my experience that type of denial usually indicates that you're the new owner 👍
  16. This does trouble me on occasion I must admit, someone on here really should buy it https://reverb.com/uk/item/46016454-takamine-tb10-2006-in-fitted-hard-case
  17. If the mods had demonstrated the good sense to ban me 10 years ago I'd be a whole lot wealthier today
