  1. To be fair, it’s protecting £600 plus worth of kit. I’m still scarred from dropping a pedaltrain soft case and doing damage to the contents 😊
  2. Mine arrived today - trimmed a little foam of each end and it fits great. You could probably drive a tank over it. Given its ex MOD kit I guess that’s a possibility 😊 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/373007187014
  3. Nothing coming up on a BC search.
  4. Looks a bit dodgy to me https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143985629699
  5. I’m jealous, I’ve been looking for a P bass of this exact age 😀
  6. I should have gone for the mint condition one at £1700 a few days back
  7. Only a bit of an derrière ? I assume he doesn’t know it’s already been butchered
  8. But I’ll not be buying this one 😊 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164698252869
  9. Polytune 2 mini noir In good used condition, just a few light scratches on the display screen. Doesn’t take up much room on your pedal board but is now redundant now I’ve gone to Helix £45 includes mainland Uk postage.
  10. DiMarzio DP123 Model J Bass Pickup Set Black, used but in full working order and very good cosmetic condition. Currently fitted in my 62 reissue bitsa as pictured which show the adjustable pole pieces which are great for fine tuning Please note that these pickups are not the same length. The neck pup is shorter than the bridge pup as you would expect for a set of jazz pickups £65 posted within mainland UK
  11. I got it from Si (Geddys Nose) from somewhere near Chorley
  12. Best be quick as there’s a trade possibility developing 😊
  13. Sorry, should have included in my post. 9lb 4oz or 4.2kg
  14. I have a USA Sterling 4H for sale or trade. It’s got a lovely maple fretboard and a Metallic Teal finish. Weighs in at 9lb 4oz or 4.2kg in new money. Generally in very good condition with 2 blemishes on the rear as shown in pics. The headstock front edge has a scuff. The battery holder catch has broken but it doesn’t cause an issue and I have a spare battery holder anyway. Took this in a trade about a year back but it’s not getting played as much as some of my other basses. It comes with a semi-rigid gear4music case. Sale is preferred but I will look at trades for a nice jazz style bass (or a P or PJ with a slimmer neck) but no more then 9lb in weight and no sunburst please. Covid secure collection from Wakefield or I can safely meet you within a reasonable distance as and when restrictions are relaxed. Buyers are also welcome to arrange a courier of their choice.
  15. Already closing in on a couple, a 2012 and a 2015, neither have spent much time outside their case
  16. Thanks all for the input - as always, basschatters are happy to share their experiences an opinions. Much as I like the bass, its going back tomorrow. I could end up putting a lot of pennies into making it nearly right but it would still bug me. A good learning experience if nothing else 😀
  17. Got 2 of them, bought them 2nd hand 10 years back so they owe us nothing. Goona get Tetrad Oskar leather sofas when we move 😊
  18. Here’s a pic of the neck pocket and the neck
  19. Thanks @Doctor J - gonna take it to my local guy on Wednesday and then make a decision
  20. @Doctor J @Beedster Apparently the last owner changed the original pickguard but didn’t move the neck pickup at all (he’s sending it to me) - there’s only one set of holes in there. The original pickguard will confirm when it drops through the letter box I think it’s the bridge pickup rout that’s not been done exactly where it should be and if so, there’s little to be done to remedy @PaulThePlug - you make a fair point. I paid £750 which although not overboard should warrant a bass with everything in a straight line. If I end up paying £600 or £650 then maybe the niggle will fade. Dunno, jury is out
  21. So I picked up a reasonably priced !996 USA Fender Jazz Good condition, lovely colour, nice neck, low action, plays nice. It has string through body bridge. But... I could see the pole pieces weren’t lining up right and after a bit of fettling it’s clear that the bridge pickup (specifically the rout for the pickup) is not quite where it should be. I do have the option to send it back to the seller who I think is a genuine guy who just never noticed or worried about it. But I do like the bass, my worry is that I won’t recover my outlay if I sell as I would feel compelled to disclose the issue. So advice would be welcome on whether I should send it back or keep it. And also what does the issue do to the value as I might see if the guy will renegotiate and do a part refund. Pics below with a steel rule against the pickups showing how much ‘out’ it is Thanks in advance
  22. The former - put your finger where the dot is and you hit the note 😊
  23. List in haste, respond later 😊 White dot markers at positions 3,5,7,9,12,15,17,19 Truss rod adjusts ok, no significant fingerboard wear, you can see the string lanes but there’s no indentations. Certainly no nasties. Nut width is 38mm and it’s a nice slim C profile.
  24. Surplus Allparts fretless jazz neck. Fingerboard is really dark, might be ebony or maybe just w very dark rosewood. The headstock front wants refinishing but it plays really well. Comes with a set of no name tuners which have served well UK postage costs included £120 ono
