I have a USA Sterling 4H for sale or trade. It’s got a lovely maple fretboard and a Metallic Teal finish. Weighs in at 9lb 4oz or 4.2kg in new money. Generally in very good condition with 2 blemishes on the rear as shown in pics. The headstock front edge has a scuff. The battery holder catch has broken but it doesn’t cause an issue and I have a spare battery holder anyway. Took this in a trade about a year back but it’s not getting played as much as some of my other basses. It comes with a semi-rigid gear4music case. Sale is preferred but I will look at trades for a nice jazz style bass (or a P or PJ with a slimmer neck) but no more then 9lb in weight and no sunburst please. Covid secure collection from Wakefield or I can safely meet you within a reasonable distance as and when restrictions are relaxed. Buyers are also welcome to arrange a courier of their choice.

Already closing in on a couple, a 2012 and a 2015, neither have spent much time outside their case -
Advice on a jazz with misaligned bridge pickup rout

Thanks all for the input - as always, basschatters are happy to share their experiences an opinions. Much as I like the bass, its going back tomorrow. I could end up putting a lot of pennies into making it nearly right but it would still bug me. A good learning experience if nothing else 😀 -

Advice on a jazz with misaligned bridge pickup rout

@Doctor J @Beedster Apparently the last owner changed the original pickguard but didn’t move the neck pickup at all (he’s sending it to me) - there’s only one set of holes in there. The original pickguard will confirm when it drops through the letter box I think it’s the bridge pickup rout that’s not been done exactly where it should be and if so, there’s little to be done to remedy @PaulThePlug - you make a fair point. I paid £750 which although not overboard should warrant a bass with everything in a straight line. If I end up paying £600 or £650 then maybe the niggle will fade. Dunno, jury is out -
So I picked up a reasonably priced !996 USA Fender Jazz Good condition, lovely colour, nice neck, low action, plays nice. It has string through body bridge. But... I could see the pole pieces weren’t lining up right and after a bit of fettling it’s clear that the bridge pickup (specifically the rout for the pickup) is not quite where it should be. I do have the option to send it back to the seller who I think is a genuine guy who just never noticed or worried about it. But I do like the bass, my worry is that I won’t recover my outlay if I sell as I would feel compelled to disclose the issue. So advice would be welcome on whether I should send it back or keep it. And also what does the issue do to the value as I might see if the guy will renegotiate and do a part refund. Pics below with a steel rule against the pickups showing how much ‘out’ it is Thanks in advance

How do you structure practice time?

Ditto for me. -
Barefaced Super 12 in very good condition, no blemishes on the finish. There are just a couple of scrapes on the metal bottom corners but that's their job Only selling as I had chance to get a Big Twin and had no resistance to the temptation Comes with a fitted cover, not a thick padded one but it does the job Great sounding cab , super light and super loud. Looking for £600 trade value or £550 straight sale price Cash sale preferred but I would consider a nice lightweight Jazz bass with cash either way (but no sunbursts please) Would prefer collection from Wakefield or maybe meet somewhere halfway depending on distance

Lakland Darryl Jones jazz neck. Recently bought for a bitsa project but not quite right for the 4 bolt body I’m using cos of the contour So just to clarify, this won’t be an exact fit for a standard fender neck pocket - see the last but one picture below. It’s also a tight fit in my MIJ fender neck pocket Good used condition, frets are in good shape, truss working fine. Has a few scrapes on headstock and at one time was fitted to standard after market body so has additional screw holes in the heel but these can easily be filled. £150 plus postage

Tokai JB45 in candy apple red with matching headstock and neck which I believe dates back to 1983/84 To the best of my knowledge it is all original and even comes with the Tokai gigbag (albeit with a hole in the bottom ! Conditional is remarkable for an instrument of this age. I can only see 2 tiny marks on the body and have tried to show these in photos It’s strung with a new set of Ernie Ball coated 45 - 105 roundwounds and was recently set up by Beej Guitars in Leeds Bass weighs in at 9 lbs 6oz Currently collection from Wakefield only or I can meet you within a reasonable distance. Trade value is £575 - cash price now £495 straight sale is preferred to put towards a Dingwall but I might look at trading for another Jazz like a MIJ 62 reissue or a Limelight with cash adjustment
