  1. I wouldn't go to Glastonbury again no matter who played although this year's lineup is tempting it's not worth the ticket price to me. I don't like the mountains of litter mashed in to every inch of the ground, the enormous size of the site, the smell and the ticket price. I go to smaller festivals now which are half the price and much nicer atmosphere and cleaner.
  2. There would be some yellow for fame. Probably more chance of getting girls as well
  3. When was the last time any of them had a hit? I think Franz Ferdinand and Snow Patrol were one hit wonders and those hits were a very long time ago now.
  4. Paz Lenchantin and Georgia South are possibly the two best and coolest. I'd even go as far say Paz is the best bassist the Pixies have had
  5. Female bassists are often far more cool than us hairy arsed blokes.
  6. Black hole sun - Soundgarden
  7. After hearing that the Glastonbury lineup was announced, I thought I'd have a look. In recent years, I've been glad I didn't buy a ticket but this year actually looks really good. The headliners don't interest me in the slightest but I always avoided the pyramid stage anyway but this year, there's loads of really good bands further down the bill. I was shocked to see Deftones in there along with Gary Numan, Brian Jonestown Massacre and Weezer. Biffy Clyro as well, I'd love to see them play their earlier stuff. Nova Twins are a bit more expected but awesome. Obviously, social media commenters say its the worst lineup in the history of festivals
  8. My other child plays bass (and is very good). One out of two isn't too bad. Maybe I can make up for it by teaching the dog to play bass, I'm sure he could manage some Status Quo
  9. My 13 year old daughter is going to school in corpse paint today! Something to do with book day. She doesn't play bass, she plays guitar
  10. This applied to all bassists except Lemmy
  11. Down In A Hole - Alice In Chains
  12. The grapes of wrath - Weezer
  13. Two cups of tea - Star F***ing Hipsters
  14. I gave up with Facebook and Instagram. They seem to prioritise showing you some butt-wagon ranting about politics over the stuff you actually want to see. I couldn't care less what Juan thinks about Bernie Sanders, I want to see my favourite bands tour announcements but no, Facebook wants me to see Juan. If its not Juan then it's Esmarelda with her proof that the earth is flat.
  15. It's definitely a distinctive sound. I'd suggest looking up some shoegaze playlists on the streaming service of your choice.
  16. That's true. I think they're possibly a bit more post rock
  17. Didn't the name originally refer to guitarists always looking down at their pedal boards because they were constantly changing effects? Always going from heavily distorted with a ton of delay to slightly different heavily distorted with a ton of delay.
  18. The man likes a bit of mast. Is that a pirate euphemism?
  19. I've been listening to a lot of 90's shoegaze bands this week (Swervedriver, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine etc) but I'm not finding any new shoegaze bands. Do they exist?
  20. I'd like to go to pirate metal gigs but I get sea sick
  21. Got it. I loaded the track in to Reaper, set up a loop on the riff and slowed it to 75% and stuck with it. The rest of the song was a doddle after that. I still don't get why that was the bit that tripped me up. Great song though and really fun to play. Makes me want to start a stoner metal covers band but that seems like a band no one would ever book!
  22. I'm enjoying Slift this morning. A French prog band with some really awesome bass.
  23. Yep, that's exactly where I trip up
