  1. Can I take these please? I'll obviously cover post or pay a bit more into charity coffers. Name your charity if they are mine.
  2. They now take fees direct from your bank account, so even if you get paid cash on collection you still need to pay that percentage of fee... only they will have a direct debit to take it from your bank (or will have by 31st May). £51.50 does seem excessive in fees mind; is that about 12.5% ebay + paypal maybe. In which case you'll be better off in the future as you won't pay paypal fees.
  3. I have one... and you are correct! However, how many of us genuinely tinker with onboard controls at a gig? You can use your amp EQ to dial in the tone you like after finding the combo on the bass that you like. Think of it as a P bass... it does one thing and it does it well.
  4. Sold. Just to say that as it is now sold and not to someone on BC, I'll reiterate that this was one hell of a bargain of an amp. If it weren't for the weight (less than many amps), I'd not have sold it. If you are in the market for a PRO amp, search one of these out! I've got nothing to gain from bigging it up, just trying to ensure anyone search threads re. these amps realises what a bargain and monster they are.
  5. It was an Ampeg B15T EV
  6. I had an Ampeg solid state flip top years ago with an EV iirc. Not sure about presets etc but it was about 150w and a nice bit of kit... though it ran out of steam pretty quick.
  7. Were they not doing some kind of big discount on TC cabs if bought in conjunction?
  8. I have the exact same bass (1997)... I say exact but the back of mine is a clear lacquer and the pup selector switch is a pan pot; superb basses with a very consistent tone across the whole range. GLWTS
  9. I have a TC Staccato and though it is surplus and a back up amp, I'd not let it go as cheap as that RS750 is!
  10. LOADS of amps for sub £350 that are 500w, which is either 50w more than the RS750 or 250 less (depending on who you believe) but you couldn't possibly notice the difference in volume either way! I think it is more a matter of do you like the tone of the TC or do you prefer the sound of one of the others.
  11. They look sweet and that weight... just the wrong end of the country for me to trial them!
  12. Not something you see every day! I got all twitchy as I thought it was short scale!
  13. No disrespect to 'W' but they are bloody expensive for repairs! Where are you btw? I know of a few good luthiers in the North/NE.
  14. Danelectro Longhorn. Nordstrand 'Cat'. Musicman do various shorties now. Spector do a Legend shorty. Fender CV Mustang/Musicmaster.
  15. Interesting bass... off to youtube samples of it!
  16. I can't play/gig basses that are over 9lb(ish), age and a dicky shoulder don't appreciate it. £1500 is a cracking budget and you'd be able to pick and choose in the used market. Getting something that fits aesthetically (if it matters) might limit your choices. A couple of basses not mentioned yet are 80's Warwick Streamer basses; I've got a Streamer just under 8lb that is superb and I'll never let go. A bit more esoteric from Warwick is the Dolphin ProII bass, nearly always light weight and just a bit different. I also own a Maruszczyk Jake PJ bass which is 7.5lb... stupid light for a trad Fender shape bass. Finally, short scale basses like the Nordy Cat, Danelectro Longhorn etc are all great basses at not a lot of money, which have the added benefit of altering your playing position which 'might' help your back problem... if you can go with the shape!
  17. If the item is a bass (with neck on) you'll get stiffed because of the length of the package and I'd not be surprised at quotes of $850! Add in the 25% in fees etc and you need to do the maths.
  18. What year is it? Just be aware that early Warwicks have removable rods and it isn't unheard of them to be installed incorrectly. Also, I've known some Wicks to have rods that work counter clockwise (ie the opposite to normal).
  19. This would so suit a Cheap Trick tribute... Hmm.
  20. Joined as I have just started fettling an APII (MIJ) and I'm looking for info... maybe I should have just messaged you Jon!
  21. Sorry, I should have been clearer. It wasn't so much wanting more recommendations, as a reflection on how things have moved on/muddied. As it happens she plays in a 'pop' band (is that a real thing?), with a pair of female vocalists. She's got a short scale Squier Jag bass but looking at other options to possibly change. Fave tones is tricky as she just needs to sit in the mix and as she is a classically trained brass player she isn't hung up on bass influences etc. I believe that she has committed to the Peavey.
