  1. First thought is that it is your cabs and/or leads. I'm assuming the other connections on the back are effects in/out? I'd disconnect them so that you just have bass > amp > cab(s). That leads us to your speaker cables; they look home made/mismatched, are you sure they are both wired the same? I'd try the amp into 1 cab first. Next thought based on the fact I've had one of these amps, are the preamp valves seated correctly and one of them is not on it's last legs? It could be when being transported or stored in the cold that a valve is not 100% OK.
  2. He probably got a load of messages and had a rethink that maybe it was too cheap. Oddly if he now gets no interest, the people who were interested at first will give him a swerve!
  3. IIRC the easiest way to date them is from the internal battery pack, I think the date is hand written on there.
  4. I bought an EastCoast Thinline Tele and I loaned it to our guitarist... he kind of liked it and did a video.
  5. Wrong end of the country, as I'd like to have tried this!
  6. Likewise I can swap from 30" / 32" / 34" / 35" scale and not miss a beat. The exception for me has been the acquisition of the shortie fretless... oooops I hadn't realised how much muscle memory I have for 34" scale and I really have to concentrate when playing 30" fretless.
  7. I have a TC Pethora which I've been tweaking to give me a passable emulation of a 12 string bass. In the process I created a couple of patches which I stored as they just sounded phat/saturated; in the end I've ended up running my 'normal' bass tone through the TC to give this slightly overdriven/compressed tone... and I like it!
  8. It's actually a 'much' nicer colour in the flesh, a proper green around the edges Roquefort cheese colour. I don't think the seller pushed the weight thing as much as he could, it weighs less than 7lb and yes it is a solid wood body. I'm not sure how I'm going o get on with the pan / tone controls(ie no volume) but I rarely use volume in a live situation. The rear DiMarzio may end up getting an electrician's tape modification as the pole pieces are intrusive.
  9. So each humcancelling pup has 2 coils and there are 2 of each of these pups in a case... ergo there are 4 coils. They are calling it exactly what it is; a QUAD coil pick-up.
  10. If you buy a blank at least you can notch it to suit... and it'll be 1/20th of the cost of a Warwick one!
  11. Gawd, saw that pic and thought you were trading the Zoot!
  12. It isn't the quantity of outs that I need to be aware of it is the amount of juice; the Plethora needs 600mA and if you have other pedals drawing power on a unit it can actually reduce the amount of juice being supplied across the board (often in the small print of any power supply).
  13. USB is a handy feature but that wouldn't have enough juice from any of the individual outputs to drive one of my pedals and digital pedals are very fussy. Oddly the juice from the Power Bar should easily supply the BBE but for some reason it just will not run if I use anything other than it's own dedicated wall-wart.
  14. My pedalboard has a gigbag and while it protects them, I literally carry them by hand to car to gig; they don't get thrown in with general band gear or transported/carried by anyone else. If your velcro is good they don't budge from where they are. One down side of the Palmer Power Bar that I use is that the powers protrude from the top and I unplug the leads from the Power Bar each time, I really should just secure the protective strip on the back edge.
  15. I have a seperate pedalboard that has BOSS pedals on but I could easily get 8 of that size pedal on the 40. You just need to consider where the in/out jacks go, some pedals are on the top, most on the sides.
  16. I have the 40 but it is just for a couple of large pedals.

    Sansamp advice

I know you use the TC Plethora mate, do you find this issue when running the compressor?
  18. Do you usually have a reaction to other materials/strings? I've just ordered a set of monel strings for my Baritone guitar... never had an issue with any other material, hope these aren't giving too many people grief.
  19. Assuming both of your cabs are 8 ohm (about 90% of cabs are), then any amp that will operate at 4 ohms (about 99% do) will be fit for purpose. Just out of interest why did you choose 2 different manufacturers and 2 different speaker configurations? If you have a PF 115HE why not get another identical it makes more sense. 500w output is a sensible power rating, you'll rarely need more and if you do you should be using PA support. The only unknown is what sound / tone you are trying to achieve.
  20. I'm just wondering what the 2nd had values will be like... goes to check down the side of the sofa in readiness for the glut in 3 months time.
  21. Not a lot of money for solid wood, Gotoh tuners etc. but are the pups any good?
  22. Everyone who has looked at the basic design has raised questions...
