1. I've been promoting my new band via my personal Facebook account but it isn't ideal due to work regulations (it is 'recommended' that if staff do use FB then it is used with maximum security and limited to friends viewing info and photos, not worth debating as I can see the reasoning and in principle I agree). As a result I've created a page which is linked to my personal Facebook account; this seems OK but the tabs that I have available seem far inferior to other local bands (I've looked through the available tabs and I can't add say a Bandpage which some have) and I'm finding it difficult to invite people to 'like' the page without sending a request to befriend me through my personal account... does that make sense? What I'd like is a bit of guidance/advice on the best way to utilise Facebook as a tool to attract people to my band page, which will in turn keep folk informed of our gigs etc!
 2. Unless you are putting a sale price on these Leroy I'm afraid the mods will be moving them to the eBay section. Not sure if the new rule re. 50 posts before putting a thread up in the eBay section is in force as yet but there was talk of it!
 3. Damn, if it had one less string!
 4.
Me thinks it's the same one...
We know it is now but I'm disappointed that there is no mention of the chip in the body that has a chunk of paint off down to the wood... immaculate to me means pretty much 'immaculate' NOT chipped!
 5.
Perhaps this- It Just appeared at Marks today. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...Bongo4Lava.html
Gut feeling is that it can't be the same one as I'd like to think that Mark would declare the ding down by the jack socket on the OP bass, as it is through to the wood, which would hardly constitute immaculate!
 6.
If you are talking 'new' then the latest Bass Collection Jive (J) and Power (P) basses look to have good reviews and look tasty into the bargain! <edit> just realised that they are £249 - £349 (depending on model and colour) so you could afford one but I wonder if cash could loosen that price a tad especially in the present economic climate and maybe you could get one of the better models.
Ooops! Just realised that even though it has EMGs they are passive!

 8.
the bongos deceased and its on its way to valhalla RIP DAVY
Cryptic!
 9.
May have to take advice on that as Im not sure, all I do know is it's stock and untampered with! such a dream to play at 8lbs or so.
Will you stop mentioning that it only weighs 8lb!
 10. Just add that the OP bought a Ltd Ed Streamer (no surprise there ) from me and he's a pleasure to deal with!
 11.
Walnut.
I'm sure it is a type of walnut but iirc the wood was actually saman (spelling may not be spot on). I've still got an old USA Bass Guitar magazine with the original review somewhere!
 12. Pah! Looks nothing like a Thunderfunk... Somebody got a cracking amp.
 13. Re. the piezo - When you say a bit weaker on the E string, how bad are you talking and is it a case of requiring a replacement piezo?
 14.
Calling Warickhunt
I know but it is blue! It shouldn't matter but I can't get away with blue basses (possible exception being a very pale blue) otherwise I'd have been onto it.
 15.
I love that bass, the woods are awesome and the fish inlays are superb! If they would do those inlays one of their amber flamed maple basses...
Yes! Now you are talking my ultimate bass though I'd be inclined to specify Quilt Maple.
 16. 'Probably' the only bass that I'd go out on a limb for!
 17. I smell a scam or at best a chancer who's changed his mind! Can you clarify if the guitar was an ebay/paypal sale because if it was then that's a whole different kettle of fish! 'IF' it is an eBay/paypal sale I think that the expectation would be that you would be required to refund once you have the guitar back BUT I am aware that my sister sold something (value £30) on eBay and the buyer claimed it was lost in the post so despite my sis offering a refund as soon as she heard back from RM, paypal refunded the buyer regardless! If paypal are involved I'd be ensuring that they are aware that the buyer is now in another country. Saying all of that, if it isn't ebay/paypal I'd be sitting pretty waiting for the LP to be returned first and there's nothing the guy can do to force you to do otherwise!
 18.
which he bought the other week for £195
I'm further puzzled or I might be a bit dumb this morning; how does this account link to the guy who bought the BB1000?
 19. On the back of the headstock; is that some kind of sustain block or 'fathead' style weight to eliminate deadspots?
 20. Just out of interest, how do you know it is the same guy? Admittedly 2 BB1000 basses coming up for sale in almost identical condition with cases and leaflet would be unusual but there doesn't appear to be a direct link... I'm not defending the seller, simply wondering what other grounds there are for doubt!
 21. Quite close to me (12 miles or so away) and though I've not used him, he does seem to have a fair reputation among the locals.
 22. I have to say that I've found Black Widow speakers to be fantastically reliable... I know that may seem odd as you have a blown driver but I used a pair of 350w BW Hi-SysII PA cabs for 15 years and we put the whole band through those (bass drum et al) and we used power amps from 1000w-2200w and we never ever had a problem with them. In fact they DJ who bought them from me was just saying the other day that they are still going strong after 18 years and the best sounding drivers that he has! Oh and I am not sponsored by Peavey nor do I presently use them but I have had various Peavey cabs over the years and for the price they are hard to beat.
 23.
Too bleedin' expensive
Good point! The Peavey drivers have replaceable baskets so if it's just that then it could be a simple fix. Just out of interest what is the cost difference between buying the Peavey & Eminence?
 24. Just out of interest why aren't you just fitting another BW?
 25.
Not enough to be concerned with, because for the most part watts are moot. What does limit output is driver displacement. Going from a total of eight tens to two reduces displacement by 75%, which combined with the 75% reduction in power handling reduces maximum potential output by 12dB. In simple terms a 2x10 will sound somewhat less than half as loud as two 4x10s. You're probably best off going to a pair of 2x10s , that way you can use the one if the gig is small enough to get away with it, both when it isn't.
To add to that I'd recommend sticking with the Peavey brand and finding a 2nd 2x10 to go with the one that you are likely to get. Stacked on their side/end you'll find that they will do a more than commendable job in a live situation.
