1. just got back from christmas break. I'm phoning their romford branch as instructed, all I'm getting is loud classical music. I wonder if anyone's there today??!!
2. After leaving feedback,I got 2 responses.mehanijacquinis out of office till mid jan, so i forwarded it onto patrice maynadier .Barry smith has left co. so forwarded onto eastlondon.co.uk etc. I asked for exchange and asked for them to send courier with replacement and I to give driver faulty pair. I also told them I p osted problem here. I mentioned that if problem was solved amicably , I would leave good feedback to all. Hope they do it this way
3. I tried both speakers seperately as I haven't correct lead, do you think that would make a difference?
4. Forgot to add, I tried each speaker seperately as I haven't correct leads at present. Don't know if this makes any difference?
5. just sent them feedback(enclosed was a leaflet advising me to do so) Will give 'em a call after boxing day. (will buy correct leads , just to make sure)I tried each one individually , so may not have full picture. If sound is ok ,I'll leave it.Don't need hassle. They look great on shelf.
6.
If bought online and you have all the original packaging in tact, you can return them under the Consumer Protection Act (Distance Selling Regulations) 2000 within 7 working days for a full refund (less delivery costs). You don't need a reason to do this, simply contact the seller and explain that you wish to return them, you can tell them why if you wish and they will probably replace them if they have any sense.
The best solution for me is if,they sent replacement pair and I give them faulty(?) ones at the same time saving me courier fees
7. Treated myself to the abovefor xmas. I used makeshift leads , as they don't come with them. Item is marked, not sure if product faulty . Please advise if you can Merry Christmas
8. Hi everyone, merry Christmas to all Ireceived the above on Monday. The items were well packed, delivered promptly (altho' my neighbour signed for them). Trouble is, the items are marked BTW :When items are delivered you are supposed to sign items as checked (ie open everything/or sign unchecked). Anyway ,as the marks are not too bad I may decide to keep them. Pics below. One question I do have :is it correct that one speaker should have more treble than the other? (altho' I haven't the correct leads for them ,I did a quick test with similar quality leads and there is sound coming out of them but 1 is less tebly than the other) As they were under£115.00 I don't wanna go the route of sending them back, and possibly losing out. Please help with your comments Cheers
9. Ooops!Forgot to say, I haven't been to the new Bass centre . So, I don't know if it's open to the public
10. Regarding the Bass centre:I start work near liverpool street..,THEY MOVE I believe they are now based around Bermondsey LONDON SE1. (If you know London Bridge/Borough high street/London Dungeon you'll know where I'm talking about) Bass Merchant ..NICE PEOPLE TO DO BUSINESS WITH
11. Well, I listened to 2 tracks and I prefer ''Amplified''. The first one seems to repeat the intro guitar thingy slightly more than needed. The guitar sounds a little cultish ads well as u2(who I hate). Anyway ,the bass sounds good and you all sound tight. What I do think tho' is that the songs are a bit too long and could be edited. The singing is not really my bag. What do I know, I play covers?
12. Glad I have the top gear I need I went to one or 2 shops in Tin pan Alley when I was bored waiting for somebody. I don't think there is much there now that's worth buying anyway. If I want something else, I'll try here or the fantastic Bass Merchant. Customer service doesn't exist, whether it's in a pub or coffee shop. If somebody is nice (or just being a professional people handler in their job), then I am amazed and pass comment to my circle of friends etc. If you don't like it vote with your feet, and hope the offending people die an early death
13. Oh my God! I used to have a 150 head&cabinet. These amps are loud! Sound great too. I only got rid of them when I moved to a smaller flat.
14. Judging by your budget, maybe you could go for Gallien( freddy) Kruger. They're not too expensive, new or 2ndhand. I haven't used them myself, but have thought about them . Trace Elliot aren't too expensive and they are quite good. Warwicks look good ,and are reasonably priced also.
15. It's gonna be listed for another 8 days or so. If more people bid for it ,you may find this may be too expensive in the end. There are others like this, and if your mind is set on getting one like this you may succeed in the end.
16. I used to get shall we say,''carried away'' at rehearsals and used to thump the body of the red bass to your left quite a bit. This resulted in me having to get the knobs repaired (the beautiful clicking sound every time volume /tone was increased /decreased was replaced with bog standard twist) Also one time I left lead in it ,stood on lead and had to wait for a special jack to be fitted ! I won't mention the RADIO SIGNALS the active circuitry was picking up since then.
17. I have been using EDEN NEMESIS NC-250 COMBO , the band said'' AWESOME!!'' Band in disarray at moment(I may have to look for another). As I don't drive (& couldn't afford walkabout scout ) , I now have AGUILAR AG500 AMP /DB112 CAB, and am waiting to try this out at next rehearsal.
18. As with all of us ,wish this was here when I wanted it!
19.
Get pissed, click BIN, feel sick, lie to wife, enjoy it when it arrives.
20. What about a whammy bar,and a badz scratchplate Great job tho' :brow:
21. Well, if it's something you have your heart (and lots of cash )on ..do it! I had a fair bit of dosh after selling rare Metallica stuff, and rather than pay bills (which was the intention) I bought the rarest & strangest bass I could afford. I took a risk by going on the bay and the colour and condition is very similar to this one. I got mine from a shop in Germany, and people bid after I won it as my reserve just about secured it! By doin' this I took a risk by not picking it up, testing it etc. as I purchased online. The bass is smooth as butter& is now 31 years old. I have no regrets.
22. Well, I think everyone would (probably) have that little bit of adrenalin and be a little psyched up for it. What I find ,is I'll be a little nervous before gig but after the 2nd song I'm beginning to do lots of silly rock poses forthe rest of gig! However, I do what I was told by my mentor. Have 2 drinks before I go on. No more than that tho'
23. Well, what used to work for me were the old ''Hot licks''videos(no not tht kind) which, Basicallyis a i hour video(dvd) of a bass player of the kind of music you like showing various techniques to learn. Alternitavely, if you have reached a plateau and are having difficulty then perhaps seeing a teacher about once weekly should help.
24. "I will survive"(samba version, going into a full blown" MR. Crowley" guitar solo(ozzy)) "Mamma Mia"(probably more commonplace now) I was in a bluesy singles band where the tuning seemed to vary every other week! "The letter"(box tops) was nice to play ,goodness knows what tuning I did that!
25. "stray cat strut" (stray cats)? "Tainted love"(in g)?? "Teenage dirtbag (wheatus)?? Or the usual unplugged type stuff
