1. Hi - had these in a bass, but not using them any more. The Precision is the Korean PBVE-1 Alnico pickup that currently retails for £64) - it was installed by the Bass Doc & never gigged. The neck Jazz pickup is the JBE-1N Alnico - think it's the same as the JBE-1F pickup that retails for £49. I'm looking for £25 for the Precision & £15 for the Jazz, or £25 for both. I'll post them too for that price, or collection from Newcastle is an option. Cheers, B.
2. Hi - clearing out a load of parts & have a couple of Westone bodies plus a pair of necks lying around. If you don't know about them then they were made in the early '80s & are a medium scale precision. More info at http://www.westone.i...ncord1bass.html The bodies are alder & pretty decent quality. One neck is an original Westone (with old tuners), but the other came to me in a trade. It's a medium scale maple / rosewood with stick on blocks & a Fender logo. I've never strung them up & don't have any spare neck plates, so I don't know what they're like set up (bought a load of parts & only used the pickups). I'll also throw in a few bridges & a pair of original scratchplates. To be honest I need a bit of space in the house so I'll do the lot for £30 collected from Newcastle upon Tyne! Cheers, B.
3. Hi - I have one of these lying around so thought I'd put it up for sale. It was going to be used in a project & I've owned it from new - had it on a bass briefly that was never gigged, but went back to a traditional bridge. Don't have the packaging or screws / allen keys, so how does £30 posted sound? Alternatively, I'm in Newcastle upon Tyne if collection is possible... Cheers, B.
4. Hi - I bought these pickups a while ago for a project, but never used them. Theyre the Korean Sky versions designed by Kent Armstrong & have been sat in their boxes without being wired up, so are as new. Current retail for one is £59.95 on the WD Music site, but I'll do the both of them for £40 posted! Alternatively, a collection in Newcastle upon Tyne is an option. Cheers, B.
5. Thanks all for the interest - the bass is now on hold pending the usual... Cheers, B.
6.
These are great basses. Well made, fast skinny neck, sound good, look good. I'm tempted to buy it as an investment, but that seems a waste of a fine instrument. Bike shops often have nice strong boxes
Yeah - think these US Peaveys will start to rocket in price soon. I'm with you though - this one really should be played! Would prefer a face-to-face deal really - had a few courier nightmares recently... Cheers, B.
7.
Why did you have to be so far north? It would cost me that to collect it :/
Shame, but I would prefer to do a collection sale really - if I can sort out some decent packaging then I'll give you a shout...
8. Hi - I'm selling my white Peavey Foundation Bass that I bought a while ago on here. It was made in the USA (I was told it's from 1987) & is basically Peavey's take on the Fender Jazz Bass. It has a beautiful slim maple neck, rosewood fingerboard & a pair of Super Ferrite pickups, which have a lot more presence & output than an average Jazz. There's a lot of love for these in the States, but not that many made it over here - Peavey basses from this era were really good quality & I think they'll be seen as classics in the future. Only selling it as I'm not playing bass as much as I'd like these days. It's in a really good condition & bizarrely still has the plastic on the control cover on the back! Looking for £175 collected - I'm based in Newcastle upon Tyne. 9. Interesting thread - here's what Kim Deal has to say on bass players... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCPy_57z4_w

2X18 feedback

Met up with Will yesterday to buy an old Yamaha from him. This was the third time we've traded & as ever he is an absolutely top guy to deal with - cheers!
12. Hi Jimmy - I'm hoping to do a face-to-face deal really. If I can sort out packing I'll update the thread. Cheers - B.
13. Hi - I'm selling my white Fender Precision for £250 collected. It's a Mexican model from approx. 2008 looking at the serial number & is in pretty good condition. It's been recently set up by the Bass Doc so plays well & it's currently strung with Status flatwound strings. It's also one of the lightest Precisions I've ever played. The tort plate isn't original & was fitted by the previous owner. I'd consider a trade for a Precison-style bass with a Jazz neck , with cash either way depending on the deal. If anyone has a US Peavey Fury in white they want to part with then give me a shout! I'd also consider something with a medium scale neck. I'm in Newcastle & the price is for collection. I'd prefer to do a face-to-face deal if possible. Cheers, B.
14. Bought a Peavey Foundation from Stompbox & he's a great guy to deal with. We had a total nightmare with Parcelforce, which was no fault of his - they've moved the local depot 20 miles out of town & refused to deliver a bass to a Post Office as it's too big! Despite all this, Stompbox's comms were great & the bass was expertly packed, so made it here without any problems. Trade with confidence - thanks again!
15. Great album! The bass player was Marco Nelson, who I think went on to play with Paul Weller. Ever heard anything else he played on?

17.
I saw that yeah, I have one in the same colour! Love it to bits
Sold it now - didn't think it would hang around long...
18. Sold my Squier medium scale Precision to Pestie. Straightforward transaction - despite living at the opposite end of the country to me, we managed to sort out a face-to-face deal with a relative in the north & I dropped it off. Cheers!
19.
I'll have this then
Sold!
20.
Any interest in a sunburst Squier Vintage Modified Mustang bass plus cash?
Hi Kristo - thanks for the offer, but I'm not really looking for another short scale at the mo. Cheers, B.
