  1. It'll be '60s. Selling as just bought back one that I should never have let go!
  2. I'm sure Schack Basses made something like this for NAMM one year, just as a one-off, non-production model. Can't find any pix of it, though.
  3. Prepared to include postage at sale price, minus the stack circuit. The original VVT will be reinstalled.
  4. Aye, had one like that who nearly broke a good band up. We were a 7-piece funk band, two girl singers, and us guys made it a rule not to get involved with them, for obvious reasons. So what does the guitarist do? Pulls one of them (on the sly) and they begin a clandestine affair which eventually manifests itself as a schism between them and us. They take to arriving, late, together and leaving in silence. They also quit socialising with the rest of the band and eventually, after a few weeks as an item, split.
  5. Fender Japan Jazz Bass, non-export AFAIK, in Candy Apple Red with matching headstock. Year dates as 'I' plus six digits, so around '89/'90. Mint green 'guard and currently sporting a '60/'61 stackpot circuit, though the original VVT circuit and plate will be supplied at sale price, along with a Fender Tweed case. Absolutely no issues and has a nice, tight Jazz Bass sound; even acoustically it has some bite! Listed as in very good condition. No trades or swaps, please.
  6. I have a fretless CS Stackpot Jazz from that same era, same cert and same little CS decal on the rear of the headstock.
  7. Being a Steinie fan for most of my adult days, I'll have to pick up a copy of this book. Thanks for the heads (or headless) up!
  8. I had an Ibby 2388BDX around that time and the single coil 'mudbucker' was as weak as sin and I, too, fancied the Model 1, the one with the coil split. I think it was about £79 back then and again I, too, couldn't afford it so I went with a Bill Lawrence dual rails 'bucker.
  9. So, there's maybe some chance that this is another 4000 with a new 'board? Or the original 4000? See pic below from the link I posted earlier. Mmm....it isn't. The BTLOTL bass has a skunk stripe.
  10. Anyone seen this?? Lemmy's gear
  11. You know what I would do? Stay away from Hi-Gains!
  12. The carbon weave was on my Series II back in '85 but it was a true weave, under and over.
  13. Also, what's going on with the saddles/tailpiece?
  14. A 4001S or a 4000 with a TB pup?
  15. Poplar? That's a pretty light wood. And those caps are ultra-thin!
  16. I liked the spalted bodies that Vantage did a few years ago. Never seen one on a Jazz. Not bothered about the neck.
  17. I've looked again at your bass, this time on the laptop, and yours in fact has the same bridge as mine.
