  1. Mainly the E string, but there were reports of most being dead. Jason Howe acknowledged this. The internet is full of examples. Happened to me twice back then, and I sent the whole lot back to Roto. That's when I switched over to Warwick Reds, which I now find difficult to get ahold of.
  2. There was a time, back in the early Noughties, when RS66 were dead out of the packet!
  3. It's taken that Insta vid for me to note that he rested his second and third fingers on the pup cover as an anchor.
  4. Martin Turner of Wishbone Ash said he used tomato ketchup on Roto RS66 to deaden them. To this day, I'm not sure if was being cheeky or not.
  5. I've seen a few of those, usually on Gumtree. Expensive guitars in remote locations. I once spotted a Martin D-45, location was somewhere down London way. The price was stupid low - £800. I asked if I could come over and try it. Seller replies, saying it's a bit unfortunate as the guitar was currently in Shetland!! I then told him I was in Edinburgh, and I could get a cheap flight up and have a look at it. No further contact. 🙂
  6. I always loved the Jolana Basso IX. GLWS.
  7. Did you buy that bass, earlier this year, from Andy Baxter, perchance?
  8. He's having to wait, as well. He's doing the ordering, and hanging c£220 onto the the pleasure of doing so! 😄
  9. Yeh, nothing 'wrong' with it, of course. But at £450 for a Chickenbacker, caveat emptor, indeed. His shop advertises a wheen of AliE gear.
  10. Obvs taking orders, buying them, then making a lift. Nice work if your can get it. Skimmer The same bass is for sale on AliE for £233, free shipping.
  11. Oh, and Franz Ferdinand. Kn hated that sound.
  12. Does it really? My post was merely an observation, not a criticism.
  13. Pretty goo, apart from missing the end harmonics, totally. It's a tenth position finger-on with the index finger, and the harmonics over the thirteenth with the pinkie.
  14. That's a youngster, there! Never been able to nail all of that track!
  15. My Auntie Mary, that's in good nick!
  16. That's been edited! The original version had him making a grand entrance through the curtains to the right!
  17. I can confirm this, from knowing a guy that had a Mk IV that was constantly playing up on gigs. He eventually retired it.
  18. There's a Jazz Bass rout? Is that it behind the swimming pool?
  19. 1. My old Steiny XL2A. Flogged it once, bought it back 7 years later, and sold it again 12 years later. Mug. 2. Both my late '90s Warwick Thumb NT basses: a fretted and a UF.
