If you look closely, I think it is still gloss - you can see what I'm pretty certain is a reflection on the last pic, right side of the 21st position. That's not visible in the other pics. J.

Noel's referring to the fingerboard/fretboard (being a committed member of the Junior Pedants League, I only use the term "fretboard" to refer specifically to a fretted instrument ), touchboard isn't a very commonly used term but is correct in this context. It's more commonly used in reference to instruments like the Chapman Stick or Warr, where it's descriptive of the intended playing techniques. Jon.

That's the weirdness of Ebay for you right there - I'm sure I've never seen a 6-bolt EB-0 copy before (I would remember!) and now, they're like buses. Amaze. J.

Six-bolt neck is quite unusual on an EB copy, don't think it's an Avon because of this. It's claimed that Moridaira used these early on but I have no idea if that's the case, tbh. I hope the price is a typo - surely he must have meant £75? Or maybe it's because it's part of the "Law Suite"? J.

Big fan here - I've had 2 early 90s SR800s (fretted & fretless) and am considering another SR because I miss 'em! I currently have an EDA900 Ergodyne, a pre '75 2366B Precision copy and a 1982 RS924 Roadster. I've also had an '81 MC150 Musician guitar and a '78 2601 Artist acoustic guitar. I've also got a pair of early 80s Blazer basses in bits in the lab, waiting for me to get around to sorting 'em out. All of mine have been exemplary quality instruments, as is typical of the brand. It's worth mentioning that Ibanez isn't a manufacturer as such - it's a brand name owned by Hoshino Gakki, who contract various factories to build instruments according to price range. Apart from my EDA (which was made by Cort in Korea) all of mine have been quite old, and were all made in Japan by Fujigen Gakki. Fujigen is probably best-known for building MIJ Fenders - and apparently originally got that contract based on the quality of the Fender copies they manufactured in the 70s, many of which were sold as Ibanez. For them what missed it - it was a bolt-neck Faker in Fireglo, with a Rick TRC. Only one not-very-good pic but I'd say it was a Hondo with swapped tuners & no bridge pickup. J.

A bit of rather uncommon KoreaDiarrhoea for a change, at a completely daft-cheap £60 BIN: [url="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vester-Stage-Series-Jazz-Bass-Guitar-/110600789406"]Vester Jazz copy[/url] Serious bargain, I'd be inclined to think - never played one myself but these are meant to be good, and have a bit of Fender-baiting history - a "proper" lawsuit, where the brand was shut down due to its apparent phonetic similarity to the "F" word. They probably weren't too keen on knockoffs this similar to the real thing either. J.
