1. Go for a Gig Skinz - I got one from Bass Direct for my SA450 and it's fantastic. Not only is it very functional with tons of compartments but it's also a great quality and very attractive bag. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...z_Gig_Bags.html I got the medium bag but you could probably manage with a small one.
2. Bought a bass flightcase from Lee this week for my impending return to LA. No question, he's a good guy and it turns out we've kind of met before and share a very close mutual friend. Small world eh?
3. I was trying to find the pictures from Greeneking's original thread because I remember it was one foxy bass but he's removed them from Photobucket. Please take some more so I can oggle at it! I'd probably buy this if someone would buy my Squier VMJ.
4. Next time I'm over your way, which isn't unheard of, I'll drop you a line beforehand if I still have it.
5. Bump. First post amended last night.
6. May trade upwards with cash going the other way, interested in an EHX Bass Microsynth.
7. I bought this recently from the forum, it is in perfect working order and has been sat on my pedal board. The feet were removed but I can supply them, one of them is ever so slightly damaged but all will glue back on. I've not been using it because I recently changed rig and realised that compression, however transparent, was not part of the sound I was trying to achieve as I'd rather be at the mercy of my technique. I'm looking for [s]£45[/s] £40 posted, pics can be available if there is interest. More information here: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/dec04/arti.../aphexpunch.htm and here: http://www.aphex.com/pedals.htm
8. Bump! I really want to get rid of this, please somebody take it off my hands!
9.
ha ha of course not! Any bass player that thinks anyone other then them and maybe the one other bass player in the audience cares a hoot about their sound is deluded.
Even if it's down to how you cut through the mix better with one than the other or you think the sound of the instrument sounds better with the set of songs you'll be playing? I understand why say an originals band might feel that having the right haircut, wearing the right clothes and holding the right looking instrument is just as, if not more important than the sound produced, but as a musician who isn't interested in "making it" I find that viewpoint a little skewed. I know that the bands I play in take an interest in what gear each other is using for the sounds we're trying to achieve. Just an opinion.
10.
glad someone agrees! We're evidently more confident in our self image
+1 - Isn't the sound you produce infinitely more important?
11. You know, that's not a bad idea but my good lady wouldn't go for it - it's already in the way in kitchen, I think I'd be dead if it gravitated into the front room!
12. I can't believe this is still around!! Have you considered selling it and then buying when what you're looking for comes along? If I didn't already have two Sterlings I'd be snapping this up!
13. That is a beautiful looking fish - what's the RRP on a brand new one?

15. Just out of interest, how much for collection instead of postage?
16.
Someone please buy this amp before i do
Indeed!!

20.
Rowbee. The difference between the LMII and LMIII is more than just having a DI switch. In fact the LMIII also has a level control on the DI (same as our SA450) plus MB have used a new limiter circuit so the LMIII will sound slightly different (better by all accounts).
Thanks Dave, I was just really going from the product blurb on their website which does mention the level control but not the new limiter circuit. I bow to your superior knowledge on this.
21.
I use a LMII and 2 x GS112's (one NT) and I'm totally happy. In terms of lightness I would argue that if the cabs are a one handed carry how much lighter do they actually need to be?
+1 I'm using the same cabs as Greeneking but with the SA450 and I couldn't be happier with my tone and the weight - I can get all my gear into a venue in two journeys tops or one if I use my sack truck.
