3. I'm also surprised this is still for sale - if I had the money I'd buy it as a backup for my SA450. I think the only difference between the II and the III is the pre\post EQ option and if you prefer the pre-EQ (which I do) you can get the II changed to this.
4.
indeedy ! but as far as i gather, nobody really wanted the sabres way back then...at least not as much as the stingrays
I had a go on Legion's Sterling HH before he sold it - an HH is now on my wishlist.
5. That blueburst one look pretty special! Seeing that Sabre makes me think they've kind of gone full circle now with the HH models.
6.
Rowbee - It extends the bassiness on offer, big time. Trouble is, it's that tight punchy sound that I'm after, but can't quite dial in. I can't complain about the guitar; merely about my own fickle nature and ever changing preferences, and subsequent cost.
So you can't dial out the pickup if you want? That's a shame, it's still beautiful though and I'm sure it won't hang around long.
7. Very, very nice! I recognise that door - wasn't there a picture going around with a G&L in front of it?
8. Hmm, I was gonna but the tea stain on the manual put me off. Good luck with the sale.
9. Always ready to appreciate a nice Sterling and that is nice. How do you find the extra pickup affects or enhances the tone?
10. Sold to new forum member DMusic - welcome to the forum, Darren.
11. I bought my Markbass SA450 from Mark yesterday and I have to agree, he is an incredibly nice guy and a pleasure to deal with. I took my Sterling and one of my Aguilar GS112 cabs with me because Etienne had been earlier in the week and relieved Mark of his. Mark was helpful with carrying my gear and turned what could have been a simple two minute monetary transaction into a very enjoyable afternoon of bass playing and footy chat. He's also a very good bassist. I'm sorry Mark, but the Sterling is not for sale - and I don't recall seeing a cat.
12.
You never saw an inlaid fretboard before? It's a stage2 don't they come with inlays as standard? Mind you, I'm thinking of Warwick, not the lesser known Warricks, so what would I know?
I guess it's just that the Streamer I had never had inlays and I was so used to it being that way. Buy it people!
13. I've never seen a Warwick with fretboard inlays? Not that they don't look nice.
14. Ahhh - GAS attack. Good luck with the sale, someone please buy it quickly.
15.
Bloody hell, that was cheap!
Apart from the rack I added, the asking price is what I paid Anthomp for it. I think making a profit on something bought and sold through the forum would be pretty bad karma.
If you keep this head you can run a third 112 cab. Just thinking out loud!!!
I'm trying to downsize my rig to as small as I can possibly manage. If I had the requirement to go through three cabs at a gig I'd definitely be going through the PA instead. SOLD to Beneath It All.
16. Mike braved the traffic all the way from Leeds to collect my EA CXL112 cab and iAmp800 from Coventry today. No messing about, he's very much straight down the line and does exactly what he says he'll do. Also a very nice guy, I only wish we'd had more time to chat.
17.
It is the way of GAS. Irrational desire meets reality with a sickening, wallet wrenching thud.
As long as there are no regrets just mark it down to experience - besides, it's better to regret etc. I've been playing and gigging a lot more in fhe last year and as a consequence I've been wanting to try out a lot more gear - I say go with the GAS, it doesn't really hurt anyone - especially if you trade or sell as well as buy.
18. Having just bought two Aguilar 1x12 cabs and having pretty much decided to part ways with my EA CXL 112 cab I've been considering my future with my EA iAmp 800. I've been using EA gear on and off since 2003 and I think it's time for a change. It's a great head which is the version that comes with the immensely handy Sabine tuner. It's an absolute beast of meaty, versatile tone and I'll even throw in the Gator 2u rack, all for £SOLD. I don't currently have any photos specifically of the head but I'll get some up soon. In the meantime, here are a few pics of it sitting very comfortably on my Aguilars:
19.
You can send funds to someone via Paypal as a gift (or something like that), it is an option that the sender has and there are no fees incurred by either party... a public service announcement from WH!
That is very true. PM'd.
20. I can see why some people don't like this pedal because of the transparency but that's exactly why I like it so much. I still rounds the signal out nicely and gives it oomph!
21.
I have used WD but they can also work out quite a bit more expensive - admittedly less so given the weakness of sterling against the dollar.
+1 - I've saved at least a tenner on each my pickguards compared to that site.
22. Finally got around to taking a couple of pics! The first Sterling is one I've had since 2001 and I think the colour is blue pearl and I replaced the original black pick guard with an abalone one I recently bought from Dasbootman on Ebay. The second is a Sterling I recently bought from Shockwave here on the forum. It's a very strange but beautiful purple\burgundy colour and I replaced the vintage white pearloid pickguard with a black pearloid one, again purchased from Dasbootman. They're both strung with DR Black Beauties and going through my new (to me) Aguilar GS 112 and 112NT cabs I bought last week from Legion here on the forum - The iAmp800 was bought from Anthomp very recently too.
