Nice one Clarky, I'd love one of these.
4. Why did you have to post this? I've been trying to get mine back for 2 years now, I know where it is and the guy keeps teasing me, although he doesn't mean to.
5.
David Caravaggio?
Italian renaissance artist.
6. It's not Pinos bass, so it won't make you sound like him but it could be something to fal in love with.
7.
These cabs are excellent, especially at this price! I just picked up the same ones with an ABM 300w Head off a fellow basschatter. Loud but still portable - I love mine Have a free bump from me
I don't think there is a price for them yet.
8.
aww man weres he live? X
Only 250 miles away.
9.
There are certain bass parts that seem quite easy to play, but when you actually learn them they just don't sound right, no matter how long you study them. For me, a prime example is 'Sex Machine'. A few simple notes, but you try to make it sound and feel like Bootsy...impossible. Another one is Steely Dan's 'Kid Charlemagne'. I've been playing this song for 12 years, and I've studied it note for note, but I can't for the life of me get it dead right. The feel is unbelievable - funk/reggae. Chuck Rainey freely admits it's probably his finest moment. Anyone else have an example of this phenomenom?
It's not a phenomenom, it's the same as trying to paint an exact replica of a Francis Bacon or David Caravaggio painting. It will never be in you or me to play these parts that were recorded by the originals, like the originals. The closest we might get, is a decent faximile. Sorry.
10. Just phoned me mate who is a massive fan, his favourite band and the fanny said,I'm not going down to London. Dick.

13.
Did someone mention The Nightfly album doesn't swing??
Sorry, I love it to bits, when I looked at how many times I had played it on my ipod, it had been played the most but I do find it too perfect sometimes, maybe that says more about me. Having said that, "Maxime" is wonderful and "The Goodbye Look" paints such a great image inside my head. I love Donalds lyrics more than anything.
14. I think TerryK has one in his Geddy/Status.
15. Hi Kev, good to see you have come to your senses and started to play lefty. £800 for a 6 string thru neck Shuk with that spec is amazing, in fact, as the legendary Carl Hooper would say, "That's Amazing".
16. Yes, excellent. When I first saw him I thought about giving up playing.
17. I really like you rendition of Vincent.
18. It's worth a ton fifty. Now we are in your rope, it is spelled tonne.
19. There's plenty of epoxy in that join, looks well sound. Wenge sucks up a lot of epoxy. £130 for this, is a great price.
20.
NS-10s are an acquired taste. If you try to mix on them having never used them before you will end up with a disastrous mix with the kick hideously loud and the snare rather absent. Get to know them and they're pretty good but they never sound nice. I wouldn't want to listen to music on monitors all the time, they tend to get rather wearing. I would however like enough space and an excuse (and a substantial windfall) to get a pair of these: http://www.meyersound.com/products/studioseries/x-10/ Alex
Yes please, I'll take 2.
21.
Lovely! I don't like the tortoise guard though, I would replace that with a prettier tort (darker and with a less 'painted on' look) or another black 3-ply. But otherwise, nice collection! I bought a MIJ '75 Jazz reissue last March, and I love it. They're incredibly well-made instruments and they play and sound amazing.
Agreed about a darker plate. Here's mine.
22. What preamp will you be using?
23.
No you're not. Just extremely well informed, intelligent, honest, handsome...... oh crap I cant keep this up!!! BB
Fancy dinner at 9:00 tonight?
