Good suggestion Wouldn't the low frequencies still be going to the 10" speakers though?

I'm looking to add a single active sub cabinet to our (basic) PA setup. I realise that it is possible to either use a crossover, or 'aux out' to the sub. The existing speakers don't handle the bass too well (10" + HF horn). The existing setup consists of the following: The choices seem to be 'AUX OUT' - a separate mix with just bass guitar, bass drum (and anything else low) to a single active sub: Or a crossover to separate the frequencies to the main speakers and the sub: My question is - what do people feel is the best route - Aux Mix or Crossover? If crossover - does anyone recommend anything that would do what I've shown above? Thank you in advance

You can use these:

As @jrixn1 says, it would depend upon what amp you have. However: 1. An MP3 player, laptop, tablet or mobile 'phone would be suitable; 2. USB stick would work as storage for your music if you're using a laptop. An SD card / micro SD would be suitable for tablet / mobile 'phone; 3.Dependent on if your practice amp has an 'aux in', or 'MP3 in' socket, use this for the source music. I use either a Promethean P20: Or an Ashdown Tourbus: And use a small tablet with Spotify & MP3 tracks stored to the Micro SD card, using the headphones socket.

#prayforpromethean worked! On @Taylor beach-blues's recommendation took Promethean to Matamp in West Yorkshire - Jeff worked his magic & all is now well! Fixed while I waited & chatted to TBB - thanks again! It is fab to have Promethean back, and was lovely to meet TBB! Thank you all for your comments Ps. Matamp highly recommended for repairs, and their own stuff is exquisite! The workshop is amazing!

Matamp. My Ibanez Promethean practice amp had an input stage problem - @Taylor beach-blues recommended Matamp in Meltham, West Yorkshire. Fixed then and there by Jeff in the wonderful Aladdins Cave that is the Matamp workshop. Highly recommended & thanks again to Taylor BB 👍
