This is a Japanese made K-1B short scale bass. Most others seem to be made in Taiwan and I am told that the Japan made basses are made to a better standard. It would therefore date from the early 1970’s. This plays fine and has been recently set up with a new set of strings. Volume and Tone pots are working and it has a classic 70’s sound. It is missing the bridge plate, it has had a washer added to the pick up, I haven’t attempted to change this as it is all working. It is missing the original end pin and has a more modern one fitted. I don't have a case for it, collection is best. Price is for the guitar only and does not include shipping. -
Hi, I just joined Basschat. I am more of a guitar player though let it slip over the years. I have been around live music for ever and always take an interest in all musical equipment, bass being no exception. Trying to persuade my son to get into the bass more and he is having a good go. Gear wise we both share a Fender Japan P Bass, a Hi Watt Max Watt practice Amp. OI also picked up a K-1B bass and a Tanglewood Rebel 5K 5 String bass to try out different sounds. Those are likely to be surplus now so will look at moving them on.
