  1. I recently got this one to try, which is quick and easy but it does mute quite a lot, which is good if your looking for that sound in particular, but it’s a bit much for me in normal use 🙂
  2. Nice tonehenge fretmeister , I nearly bought one of those a while ago, I really don’t like fan noise, does it just come on when it needs to
  3. It looks great, ebony is my all time favourite board, I specified it when I had my Sandberg made
  4. Thanks ez, listening back I think you’re right , If I hear of a bassmute going, I’ll let you know , I’ve seen this one but I don’t know how much they cost
  5. Friday Fred locks
  6. I’m not sure if you’re joking or not but I think that’s a great bit of playing 🙂
  7. Don’t think we’ve had this one, nice Bassline, definitely some muting going on, unless it’s an upright , what do you think
  8. I didn’t know there was a wall of shame Al, I haven’t been back to the first post, nice work 👍
  9. Great basses GLWYS frank 👍
  10. You may have had different fender flats to me, mine were high tension and quite bright, they wasn’t for me, I use labella LTFs on everything now 🙂
  11. A couple of years ago I went to pmt to try a custom shop jazz and the assistant was playing a rickenbacker, so I had a go, I don’t like the look and I didn’t like the shape or sound, but the neck had a very flat fingerboard, and low action , it was a dream to play, but a bit bright sounding for me
  12. This is good for a mute, I got some from work and it works a treat , just cut it to length
  13. Yeah that’s pretty much what I do, with a bit of mid for clarity I like the foam mute sometimes, on one of my precision’s I’ve got the bassmute, which you can switch on and off, but imo they are expensive 🙂
  14. I don’t much but it’s nice to play now and again , I’m not helping am I 😁
  15. That’s the same as my one, really good bass
  16. All maple fingerboards I’ve had have been a gloss or satin finish, so they should not be oiled, but a rosewood board that’s not been looked after ,or has dried out ,I would oil 🙂
  17. Great bass ez, I haven’t been past wilcock lately, but I think when I do go there ,I can see me getting that one above with the rosewood fingerboard , I want to try one first
  18. My BB1024, I’m collecting white basses at the moment, I think a stingray could be next 🙂
  19. The new one from @donstrumental
  20. This is a decent album if you want something on in the background
  21. I live just round the corner from where Andy Baxter was and I remember that bass, whoever bought it, Andy was going to get Norman to hand it to them
  22. Loving that Sumone, I’m cruising through Bethnal Green listening to this, 👍
  23. I’ve never had the J pickup but I’ve got the tonerider in one of my precision’s and it’s great, I would say it’s more bass and mid focused than highs 🙂
