1.
If I didn't already own 3 of these and (3 original GK400RBs!) I'd be biting your hand off!
Now that's just greedy! 😁
2. I'm absolutely astonished this is still here! Bit of a random comment I know, but even on my Zoom B3, the GK800 is the best amp SIM by a long, long way.. GLWTS
3. Great voice, lovely playing.. Smokey's original version is peerless though, IMO.
4. Quick heads up.. This year's SE Bash will be at the school in Addlestone as per normal, and will be held on Saturday 23rd September. Will do a brand new thread for it over the weekend. Nik
5. Lovely bass, Steve. GLWTS
6. Hi Folks Sorry - only just seen this... There's been a bereavement in the family so other than having a very cursory look at the site (usually the For Sale threads), I've not been paying too much attention any where else... So, just to say that the above comments are correct in that we don't know for definite whether or not we can use the site that we've been using for the last 9 years, and it is linked to the fact that Hamster (Colin) is no longer the premises manager at the school. But, Colin has been in touch with the Business Manager at the school to see if we can use it again this year and we are waiting for their answer. We should know soon (one way or another) and at that point we can either set a date for the Bash in the normal place or hunt around for somewhere new. My personal view is that the excellent facilities of the school combined with it's location with good transport links has helped make the SE Bash what it is, so if we can retain the school, I'm very keen to do so.. Nik
7.
Great basses, and Pete's a gent.
+1 I bought one of these about 10 years ago from Pete and it was a beautiful bass; LPB, passive and Fralin p/ups IIRC. Looking back, it was definitely one of those basses I wish I'd not sold. At the time, Pete personally delivered it to me in Guildford, at was was then the first ever South East Bash! Happy days..😊 So, buy/deal with Pete in absolute confidence folks.. GLWTS
8.
According to this it's goimg to be a 'mini set' from the original band. http://www.barclaycardarena.co.uk/whats-on/alice-cooper On the plus side The Mission are supporting.
Fantastic news! Always been an AC and DD fan...
9.
Bought a set of control knobs of Stuart. Items as described and received quickly. Very pleasant transaction.
+1 As ever, dealing with Stuart is a pleasure from start to finish. Many thanks Stuart 😊
10. ^ And amazing that it still is, because this is a great looking bass for the money IMO. GLWTS
11.
Very well cheers and you Nick?
Good thanks Si.. Still crap at setting up my dbx compressor, but otherwise all fine! Looks like the Berg is about to leave the building, which is good. 😊
12. Sadly,no. I have too many basses as it is! One more could seriously disrupt the space-time warp continuum! And cause me serious health and wellbeing issues at home... 😁
13. That's a very good price for the Acme cab! IIRC, they were quite sought after on here a few years ago.. GLWTS
14. That's a rather stunning looking instrument to my eyes, I have to say! Have a BUMP on me and GLWTS 😊
15.
Good Lord. That is just a stunning instrument!
+1 Stunning high quality work! GLWTS
16.
I've yet to meet anybody from this forum that I didn't like....everybody I've met at a Bash has been open and friendly and when I've done deals it's been a bind to end conversations as there's always so much in common. Bassists, we are such a great bunch.
+1 Endless positive experiences since being on Basschat this last 10 years or so.. Well, except for my bank balance of course which hasn't quite enjoyed such a positive time of things! 😀
17. Great cab! I'm really enjoying mine at the moment... Good luck with the sale btw 😊
18. In the main, it was early 70s music that inspired me to start playing bass; Bowie, Alice Cooper, Roxy Music, Santana. Early punk bassists further inspired me too, especially Andy Warren when he was in Adam & The Ants and Steven Severin in Siouxsie & The Banshees. Lots of other music genres over the last 40 years have continued to inspire my continuing love of music and bass playing and the great thing is, that passion shows absolutely no signs of changing or slowing down! 😊
19. Wow -never thought I'd see this up for sale!! The times they are a changing... GLWTS Si, hope you're well? Nik
20.
So you guys are saying this bass line is not played starting on an open E? And you've all been listening to the original recording?
+3 on this.. Was playing it last night with a keyboard player at an open mic and he plays it in the same register as an open E on the bass, which is how it sounds to me on the original recording.
21. Just sold a Yamaha BB300 to Jamie in what was such an easy and hassle-free deal! Jamie's comms are excellent and that always makes such a big difference when buying and selling on here IMO. So, very highly recommended to one and all here on Basschat! Thanks Jamie - hope you enjoy the bass.. 😊
